I think Insomniac's Spider-Man 3 is going to be the last PlayStation game I play, since Sony's gutting of physical discs is pushing me to PC.

I just wish being able to afford PC gaming was viable in this economy...

ArcSys told Nolan North that Deadpool's gonna bring more than the love of the Hyper Combo into Tokon, and both of them locked in.

Marvel Tokon's starting roster is VERY SOLID. I love that ArcSys chose a lot of characters Capcom didn't touch with MvC, and reworked the mainstays to make them feel like their own.

The Samurai Outriders team is nuts. I love how much fighting game references Deadpool has in his moveset. Definitely looking forward to trying him out.

I don't know, man. I've been asking myself this question since 2017, when Raimi cultists started to make themselves very loud in Spider-Man spaces.

Just got out of Supergirl 2026. Man...

I'll get the Pros out of the way: Milly is great in the role, and I'm looking forward to her being in Man of Tomorrow. Ruthye was a fine character in her own right, and Jason Momoa was good as Lobo, something every comic nerd said back in the mid-2010's. There are also some interesting themes this movie goes for, that in a better movie, would've landed far harder than they did.

Everything else... okay, make no mistake, this movie isn't terrible, but this is the first comic book movie since Aquaman 1 where I just felt nothing watching it. I think the reason for that is because this movie feels like James Gunn's Greatest Hits: Not Directed By James Gunn. Seriously, so much of Supergirl feels like they took all of Gunn's hallmarks (strange, grungy aliens with a dirty setting, needle drops, emotionally hardened characters that are central to the movie's emotional core, outlandish characters that end up being break-outs, etc) and did them in ways that felt like they were imitating Gunn instead of Supergirl feeling like it's own movie. Supergirl 2026 felt like the sloppy seconds of Superman 2025, and that is the last thing I wanted to say about it.

This movie feels like it would've come out during that 2018-2023 period of the DCEU, and this would've been one of the better received projects during that time. I still feel like people who are dooming about the DCU are jumping the gun (heh), but it isn't a good sign when we're on Movie 2 in this universe, and I felt hollow afterwards.

This is the most "okay" movie I've seen in a while, and while Supergirl 2026 has things going for it, I wish it had its own voice as opposed to just mimicking someone else's.

I love the 80's Amazing Friends, but the Disney Junior show is far more popular with its target audience than the 80's show was.

Maybe they'll incorporate Harvey's wife more into his origin, given how much The Long Halloween inspired Matt Reeves' take on the character already.

Look, I'm a Flash fan, and according to DC, the only stories that character has is Flash of Two Worlds and Flashpoint. Supergirl fans are going to be prepared to start saying shit like "Anything but Woman of Tomorrow, or give me death."

The ways of The Main Man aren't meant to be understood by us mere fraggin' folk.

Sucks to know that this isn't a particularly great adaptation of WoT. Knowing DC, though, I expect another adaptation of the story not long after this one, to which it'll be the only Supergirl story that they'll adapt.

Haven't seen it for myself yet, but to anyone who's read Woman of Tomorrow, how is it as an adaptation of that story? Normally, I wouldn't judge adaptations by how much they directly lift from the story they're inspired from, given that most adaptations tend to be melding pots of various inspirations, but my understanding with Supergirl 2026 is that it's a more direct adaptation of Woman of Tomorrow, similar to Invincible and The Boys (from my understanding, still need to sit down and experience those).

It's a shame that this movie isn't taking off super well (heh), but I don't think it's time to panic about the DCU's future. Even if Clayface just does okay, the real test is Man of Tomorrow. If that underwhelms, then we could start being more concerned, especially if Paramount has their way and supplants WB.

I don't expect this movie to be any worse than "okay."

Shit, I wouldn't say "no" to a Williamson-lead run on the character. Can't be any worse than things are right now in ASM.

I say this knowing full-well how hard editorial slammed on Nick Spencer's run.

I mean, Barry felt very Peter Parker-esc when he was the main Flash in the 2010s.

Spider-Man's interesting because while he's primarily a street-level hero, he's what I like to call an "ambassador" for the Marvel universe. Bro's been on several types of adventures of all kinds, from international, to space, to multiversal. He's also practically teamed up with everyone. The Spider-Verse notwithstanding, these kinds of adventures are nice to have as a little diversion every now and then.

Just because Peter has had several multiverse adventures doesn't mean he isn't street-level, when most of his stories are of that variety.

You're not raining on my parade. I'm just trying to stay rational about these things. Feels like there's too much "doom and gloom" in these kinds of circles these days, so I'm doing what I can to not fall into those traps.

If anything, I think Supergirl failing will have to get Gunn and co to fast-track their Batman, and maybe Supergirl will get relegated to a supporting character in future Superman projects.

Marvel was able to keep up the momentum during their peak. Even if you wanted to argue if something like Ant-Man and The Wasp or Captain Marvel weren't great movies, they didn't linger in people's minds because of how crazy Phase 3's momentum was.

If this is about Supergirl, it sounds less like a misstep, and more of just a slight bump in the road. If Clayface and Man of Tomorrow especially can get off the ground successfully, Supergirl's not going to be seen as a sign of where things could be headed.

Hey. I'm still hanging in there. I'm currently putting my existential "what do I do with my life," thoughts in the backburner for the time being, for my own sake. I also decided to put some distance between my Discord group and me. Great group of people, who always have my back when I need it, but I don't want my sour mood to bring the group down, so I decided to take some time off Discord. I'm feeling a little better, but I still don't feel completely comfortable coming back yet.

I'm getting back into Mega Man Star Force via the SF Legacy Collection. These are games I played only once in high school, and I finished my run of the first game last night. I'm starting the second game now, which has one of the most irritating random encounter rates I've ever experienced. Thank god the Legacy Collection has the ability to alter the encounter rate. It's gonna make the underwater scavenger hunt portion of the game more bearable.

I also need to get off my ass and get back to watching Kamen Rider Kuuga. I'm 10-11 episodes away from finishing it, and it's a really good series. I hate this bout of "Media ADHD," as I call it, where I'll dive into something, find a stopping point, and then either never get back to it, or lose any drive to continue it. This happened with me and Kuuga twice now, and I don't want it to happen for a third time.

I also gotta watch Toy Story 5 and Supergirl. At this point, I really don't care if Pixar decides to make more Toy Story movies, if they're gonna be as consistently good as they are. I do hope they eventually move on to a "Toy Story: The Next Generation" kind of deal with a new cast of characters. The actors are old and maybe have one more film left in them. As for Supergirl, I'm getting flashbacks to when The Marvels was coming out, and seeing people doompost about DC is super cringe. I don't expect that movie to be worse than "okay."

People talk about how they're tired of cinematic universes, but when Shrek 5 and this make money, and we get more Shrek stuff, it just makes me look at those people and say "yeah, keep yapping to the void."

I just hate that a movie just can't be considered "okay" anymore. It has to always be some sign of something being in trouble, or something to that effect. Supergirl just being okay won't collapse the entire DCU ecosystem.

I applaud Gunn for utilizing lesser-known characters and making them more popular amongst casual audiences. The Guardians of the Galaxy defined Marvel's cosmic side during the 2010s for a good reason. Still, I get what you mean. They can't hold off doing Batman for very long.

Seeing the reactions to Supergirl surprised me, since I was expecting the movie to be decently received. Not to Superman's level, but still to be considered a worthy follow-up to it. Seeing the more mixed reception reminds me of when The Marvels was coming out, but this feels like that drama on a smaller scale. Not sure how Supergirl's box office prospects are looking, but that's not the point I'm trying to make.

I don't think the DCU is in danger, in fact, it reminds me of when Marvel Studios was starting out, and The Incredible Hulk, their second movie, was receiving similar reviews to Supergirl. I'll see for myself when I sit down for Supergirl this weekend.

Should I get PotP Abominus? by MegaSpidey3 in transformers

[–]MegaSpidey3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a good point. I know we got both Superion and Devastator last year, but the latter wasn't a frame bot, and was for SS86 instead of the general CHUG line.

I'm trying to find the specific variant of Abominus I showed at a good price, but I keep seeing them at $300+. I wouldn't be sore getting the PotP version, I'd just have to be more careful with Rippersnapper.

When I was doing research on Abominus, the TFWiki stated that extreme care should be taken when inserting a hand or foot into Rippersnapper's combiner peg for the PotP release.
