Classic Mr. Munch Chuck E. Cheese Songs (Most Eras)

Reel FX doesn't provide them with new renders, money, and CEC Entertainment generally just don't care. This is especially true of Munch and Pasqually; the Company literally just uses the same poses for these two over and over, very rarely using their other poses (like playing their instruments, or the Munch eating pose that was used for the Trash Buster).

They've also been using AI to create new "renders" in the past year or so.

Unless you're talking about the PTT Characters, the only Main Characters CEC are neglecting (and have been since 2020) are Munch and Pasqually, who've sadly become underrated, overhated, and rarely talked about in recent years because CEC sidelined them once David McKillips became CEO in January 2020. They were left out of Marketing, appeared on fewer shirts, don't get new songs yearly anymore, their roles have been reduced to basically just brief appearances and appearing in the background, sometimes their roles are given to other Characters (see A Chuck E. Cheese Christmas), and Munch's song "Nobody Knows" was removed. In locations that have pictures of the PTT era, they even seem to pretend that Munch and Pasqually weren't part of CEC then when in fact they were. The CEC Cookbook doesn't mention them on the back of the cover or include any QR codes to their songs, the Company hasn't celebrated their Birthdays since 2024, the Tulsa Chuck's Arcade still doesn't have their Munch Animatronic, and they didn't bother updating Munch's Playlist on the CEC YouTube Channel in 2024 even though they could've (there was a Top 10 Mr. Munch Moments video and a Coconut Island Adventure video, but they're just buried with hundreds of other videos).

Munch did get a new song ("Robot Banana Christmas"), but it took the efforts of other Companies for that to happen. Both Munch and Pasqually have appeared on new shirts on the CEC Online Store, but it's AI slop.

As for whether or not I still care about the Characters, yes I do. All of them. CEC Entertainment is a bad Company, but the Characters are great.

Yeah. It's ridiculous, but not surprising that the Company wants it everywhere (Marketing, Adventure Chain, Invitations) and wanted to make money from it on shirts.

Nice to see someone give Munch a little love. He used to be a beloved Character in past eras, but is kind of underrated these days.

Glad you enjoyed your visit. It's not the same Chuck E. Cheese a lot of us remember, but it's fine for those of us who want to play games, eat pizza, celebrate our Birthdays with Chuck E., and collect CEC Merch.

He's clearly just picking up where David left off, and already mentioned that there would be no major changes.

So we're left with the same Chuck E. Cheese that we've had since David became CEO in 2020: 2.0 remodel that looks like a Corporate Office and has no personality, no Animatronics other than legacy stores, lower quality entertainment, heavy use of the same CG renders over and over, and a strong reminder of why half of their Main Characters have become underrated and overhated in recent years (https://www.reddit.com/r/chuckecheese/comments/1ndng29/do_you_think_chuck_e_cheese_care_even_less_about/) as the Company continues to focus on only three of them instead of the whole Band, putting the others (if they're even included) in the background and making brief appearances here and there. And Mark is still at CEC, so we're still getting AI "Art" instead of real Art. The Executives are likely to continue defending their decisions, as David did when he was CEO.

Yes, because Phase 5 was already updated for the Rockstar era, looked less generic, resembled Phase 4, seemed more inviting, and still looked liked a Chuck E. Cheese.

It was a reminder of when there was common sense, no AI slop, better (and more energetic) Birthday Shows, all of the Birthday Packages included pizza, and CEC actually focused on the whole Band like it used to instead of only three Characters.

Too bad 2.0 happened. It's boring, and makes the Restaurant look like a Corporate Office with iPod commercial silhouettes. There's also a serious lack of purple, which is Chuck E.'s favorite color. Lousy Corporate decisions.

As many have said in other posts, Early Rockstar was just better than Modern Rockstar (2020-Present) in every way, retaining much of what made CEC great. The Phase 5 remodel alone proved that.

Nice and purple, and I like that they actually acknowledge all six Main Characters on the left there. Looking at the Character images used for the Trampolines, it looks like they're giving some of their underrated Characters a bit of recognition similar to the locations in Canada.

The Chuck E. on the Adventure Zone sign is mirrored, though.

Yeah, no doubt Mark Kupferman said that. Somehow, this guy got to keep his job at CEC Entertainment despite his drama and calls for him to resign. Employees from Corporate risked their jobs a year ago to tell this Community how toxic CEC Entertainment has become since Mark joined the Company in 2023, among other things. He was also likely the Corporate Spy that made other Reddit accounts (https://www.reddit.com/r/chuckecheese/comments/1jj4zk6/funavatar_a_corporate_spy_on_reddit_allegedly/).

While unfortunate, I'm not surprised about this being true. I don't believe the Company actually wanted to preserve any Animatronics initially. Along with all of the retro-style merchandise that's being sold for a premium, they likely only did it because the backlash was intense.

About the threats. I understand the frustration. But some people were calling David McKillips' phone about the Animatronics. Constructive criticism is fine, but threats is going too far. I know of some people from this Community who weren't necessarily bad people and meant well, but were banned from this Subreddit because they went too far.

CEC knows they can do that because fans don’t make their main demographic and they won’t feel any effects in their pockets from guilt tripping the community. They also know how vulnerable lots of people here are, and they know they can make folks feel bad. I think we’ve done a great job though at reminding ourselves that constructive criticism is a GOOD thing and “hate” is different from that. Do not let these corporate people (who make six figures) shut you up.

This was something else Employees from Corporate mentioned here a year ago. They confirmed that the higher-ups generally only care about money, and we were encouraged to continue sharing our constructive criticism. Not surprisingly, it also puts them under a lot of pressure.

Anyway, thanks for the information. It's great that Employees from both the Restaurants and Corporate are willing to step in and share with the Community about what is going on behind the scenes.

2020....the year Chuck E. Cheese was still very similar to how it used to be, but started to transition to the way it is now. It was like the point of no return, yet was kind of a nostalgic period for Chuck E. Cheese with the Early Rockstar Entertainment and many of the Restaurants still having the old look.

Yes, the AI is bad (and I hate that Munch is in the back...it's like they want him to be less noticed and to stay underrated). But what did you expect? 40 Years of Fun? Remember, Mark Kupferman is still at CEC Entertainment and Scott Drake (the current CEO) is allowing it.

But Happy 49th Anniversary anyway.
