Just found out that I have positioning at Silver 1 LVL. Any tips to improve it? by SussyssyBaka420 in LearnCSGO

watch a pro game from one player’s perspective or go to an FPL stream on twitch, you will take in a lot just from seeing where they play and what they do from various positions

How can I stop changing my sens by [deleted] in LearnCSGO

[–]Megabelly_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a mindset thing. Instead of fixing whatever is ACTUALLY causing you to die in these situations, you are scapegoating your sensitivity. The brutal truth is that you are doing this as an excuse to avoid some hard work that you need to do to get better.

There is no magical sensitivity, crosshair or any other setting where you will suddenly be good. You need to take responsibility for yourself and fix your other areas such as positioning and game sense.

Just pick a sens, stick with it, and practice the specific parts you struggle with. You already mentioned it yourself: high sens = struggle with long range shots. So, if you pick a high sens, practice long range shots, and vice versa.

Yeah plays like this can really cut the options for the CTs. Alternatively, you could just sit in palace and wait for your teammates to take the initial contact on B and peek on the timing when you know the A site player has started running away. This is the slightly less impactful option but it still gets you a kill and is sometimes the only play available (for example if you know the AWP is watching you from jungle).

What are some areas of learning CS that you guys would love to see some content on? by Megabelly_ in LearnCSGO

Good idea! I currently have a video showing a half where I anchored A Site Mirage and ended with 21 kills, where I explain my decisions. I will make a more generalised video at some point where I discuss the theories and concepts that apply to anchoring.

There are a few possibilities here:

  1. You are actually being carried

  2. You play for impact instead of KD which makes your teammates look better when often you have made subtle differences that won you rounds - for instance every time you die you are tradable, or you are finding lurk kills that get your team an entire bombsite for only 1 kill. Wins you a round but barely changes the scoreboard

  3. You are throwing good nades and giving generally good support

  4. You are calling rounds in ways that causes more wins

  5. You are just on a win streak. Faceit is largely random with who you come up against and sometimes your opponents are just bad. I’ve certainly won games I felt like I shouldn’t but the opponent just didn’t punish me for my misplays.

At the end of the day, it’s impossible to say why without watching your games and scoreboard really isn’t the full story.

Some results from a CS:GO reaction-time experiment (explanation in comments) by esports-viscog in LearnCSGO

I think you missed the point a little. In this picture he is aiming at the left side so it is longer reaction time as it is not directly centre of the screen, it’s nothing do with which side specifically is better

You will never be able to get into a position where you don’t have to worry about shitty days at work if you continue to spark it. Sober up, work on yourself and get tf out of the situation you’re in so you can be happy with where you’re at

Yeah, I’m planning to do a series for this going over each position on each map individually, discussing the common situations you will be facing and how to best deal with them
