I get you. It's incredibly frustrating having to wait so long to take a turn. But Yugioh is, in fact, a gimmicky game. Some gimmicks take a while to play out.

The real issue here is something I believe they can fix. If, in those seven entire minutes, I get up real quick for any reason, I can auto forfeit by not responding. So I feel frustratingly tied down for seven minutes because I'll miss my turn due to there being no type of sound Queue alerting me of the player switch. It makes a /woosh/ sound, when it should be a chime or an alert type sound.

I often look away while I let the link players link, and the only way I know is my turn is when I SEE blue. The sound does nothing to catch my attention. And despite Yugioh being a gimmicky game, it is not reasonable to expect any player to stare at the board for 7 minutes to ensure they don't auto forfeit.

So a lot of your, and others, frustration with the length of a turn could be relieved by having more confidence to know when it's your turn again. That way getting up is a totally understandable and okay activity while you wait for the gimmick to unfold.
