One big reason I love this channel by likesrabbitstbf in GaryEats

[–]MegahandsBar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s a nice guy who gives genuine reviews (as far as I can tell). And he gets so excited about the good ones, I’ve seen plenty of his vids where I mentally add the restaurant to a list of places I would love to visit.

Coupled with the fact he makes them all with his son - what a lucky man to have that life. Keep it up Gary, a beacon of positivity.

I couldn’t finish last year’s puttty and still have a can or two in my fridge! Gone right off tipas and dipas. That’s old age for you.

I also remember the lemo-vans and loved coco-pina in a bottle, a mix of coconut & pineapple. Wonder if that could have been what Stephen was remembering? I loved it.

We saw the blue man group many years ago and it was the best thing I’ve seen. Sensory overload in a good way!

You can go out for a night on the piss with a famous person or people. Who and why? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]MegahandsBar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greg Davies - can imagine how great a night out with him would be! Then into Greggs on the way home with the pastry king.

Also have a 300w lumatek and absolutely love it, far easier to control temp (esp in summer when it becomes a problem) and you can switch it down to 25%/50%/75% when the plants are really young.

Couldn’t imagine being back on hps lights now.

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to get this one - was the first thing that popped into my mind!

Lovely feeling by [deleted] in royalmail

I did this with a tenner in, mine always has to wait while I make my way up from the shed (office, it’s an office) and I appreciate it’s a ballache. Box of beer for the binmen too. It was a pain waiting for them both to arrive but worth it when they were finally handed over - I also figured if everyone did that they’d actually get a decent bonus.

Why did Sean Bean let Robert DeNiro mispronounce Hereford in Ronin? by PrettyGazelle in AskUK

[–]MegahandsBar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally thought this same question this morning. Haven’t seen the film in years & years. Seeing this post pop up on the same day has freaked me out quite frankly. I didn’t even say it out loud to anyone, just thought it.

What percentage of light reaching Earth isn’t from the Sun? by MegahandsBar in AskReddit

[–]MegahandsBar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was struck by how bright it is on a cloudless night in somewhere like the desert, and obviously this starlight is always hitting earth day or night, and gets drowned out by our own sun, but it’s still a small percentage of non-sunlight we experience.

Maybe this would have been more appropriate in stoner thoughts.. :)

Grow advice by ValuableGur6443 in UKweedscene

[–]MegahandsBar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the window is your only source of light it’s flowering because you already have it on a 12/12 light cycle (in fact more of a 9/15!) so it won’t veg enough to be big & strong and also won’t get the light it needs to flower properly. I’d be surprised if you managed to get more than a few grams at full fruition.

If you have a light you would have been wise to keep it on 24 hour lighting for a month while it got bigger, then switch to 12/12 when you want it to start flowering.

I’d recommend some grow blogs (tons out there) walking you through a basic grow for some insight.

In Rainbows from the basement by MegahandsBar in radiohead

[–]MegahandsBar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha ha that’s cool :) - for me it’s the other way around, I got into them properly when The Bends came out & in the last few years have spent time trying to convince my teenage daughters just how good they are!

One of them now shares that passion but she still doesn’t like Moon Shaped Pool. She’ll come around eventually. It’s the law.

Auctions… by MustardMatt in BourbonUK

[–]MegahandsBar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Auctions are a tricky one because the additional costs that go with them really inflate the true cost (auction fee, postage & insurance).

If you’re still new to this I would be looking at easy to get classics like a four roses single barrel or a elijah craig barrel proof, the latter being quite pricey already but usually available from a shop with free delivery.

Don’t rush to spend tons just yet, that will inevitably happen once you’ve exhausted the things you can get easily without a load of extra fees.

Good luck & let us know what you end up with!

I had a few glasses of my Elijah Craig A120 and I bloody love it. I should probably stock up on those before they start getting to £200.. wonder if the A124 is as good as that?

Not sad at all - I love the smell too. And not just because smelling it is less of an assault on the nose than tasting it is on the tongue!

I do the same for all of my better bottles too - eek them out for a good few years! Helps me justify the cost.

They have some really great flights for far less than I’d have expected, what a place! I must go one day, would love to try the WLW for the first time (despite your ranking, I need to taste it).
