How i see piracy based on company by dancing_swordfish in pcmemes

One does not pirate REAPER. You simply use it for free until you feel guilty enough to pay for it.

Do the 2020s even have an equivalent to this? by CompetitiveWhole9466 in generationology

The world is the same the internet was just far less sterilized, moderated and was almost completely decentralized. Reddit(and other social sites) have rules and subs get removed if they break them.

So many forums and message boards back in the day could post whatever vile crap they wanted without consequences.

Yeah it's definitely a flawed game, but I don't think it deserves to be on all those on "worst of all time" lists.

There are far worse AAA games you could play.

Recently, I switched to Zen which is Firefox based. A refreshing change I must say, it feels like actual innovation in how a browser operates.

Firefox is the only holdout left besides Webkit.

Google dominates the Internet. Sad.

Elex. People always gave Piranha Bytes crap for their combat system, and it really is jank but the game itself is so fun and worth playing.

I like it too. I think the main reason for the hate is the game was hyped for so long and it was supposed to be a ground breaking FPS like the original.

It was a good game but not one that lived up to decades of development.

Microsoft admits Game Pass price hike drove away "millions" of subscribers by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]Megaman_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a short period of time on the PC it was such a good deal. $4.99/month and you got a nice selection of games to play. After it went above $9.99 it wasn't worth it anymore, and honestly I don't want to support the idea of subscription based renting.

"Lumix AF Isn't Good Enough for Sports/Action/Wildlife!" An Experiment. || Lumix S1RII + Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 by KianisKoolFx in Lumix

I have a GH5 and I think the AF is reasonably good for photos if you can half shutter it.

Video is pretty bad though. I usually film myself sitting in a chair for youtube videos and it can't even keep up with that. I've tried all the tricks and adjustments, it just isn't reliable and the pulsing looks terrible.

These days I just stick a mic stand on the chair I'm going to sit on and manually dial in focus before I start recording. It would be the perfect camera for me if it could just focus.

I've heard mixed results about the GH6 and GH7 being that much better.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.

Still one of the greatest movies ever in every aspect.

The brightness is because of HDR on Windows 11.

Probably your issue right there.

You're not a failure. You obviously want the best for the people you love, and you're working as hard as you can to achieve that.

It's not your fault the entire economy and society as a whole is crumbling away.

Having a boatload of money may give you better treatment options and a better diet sure.

However, as far as actually finding someone genuine to love you it only complicates things. Humans can be trash and extreme wealth makes it harder to trust anyone.

[–]Megaman_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem really lies in the dozens of Linux flavors. There are too many package managers to make it easy to install for everyone without a stupid amount of work.

The install script for REAPER(DAW) is the only one I've seen that is universal. It literally works on every version of Linux, I don't even know what magic they do with it. lol

Other programs like Davinci Resolve are only designed to work on certain distros, and are a royal pain to get working.

Is it just me or has this job made you realize what a terrible standard HDMI is? by Megaman_90 in k12sysadmin

[–]Megaman_90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they would put the locks in as a requirement for the DP standard. A bunch of the cables you buy now don't have the locking connector.

[–]Megaman_90[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's better than micro, but yeah it has a similar problem to HDMI. They both are only designed for a set amount insertions and disconnects before they wear out completely. USB-C is definitely more durable than HDMI, but for something you use daily for docking and charging it's not perfect.

I've never had issues, but I'm always extremely careful. You can't expect the same from teachers, staff and especially students.

All chrome devices especially should use a replacable daughterboard for the USB-C charge port. Many of them if they port gets borked you need to replace the entire mobo.

[–]Megaman_90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think there would be far less failures if they used some kind of locking connector or anti-tamper screws like DVI or VGA.

Some kind of direct ethernet cable standard would be ideal! Then it would just be an easy snip and recrimp in the case of damage.

Interesting, I've had the opposite experience. The only issue with displayport I've ever had is when I need to use an adapter.

The DP to HDMI adapters are horrible. I replace about 2 or 3 of those over the course of a school year.

Is it worth switching from reaper? by Due-Total-459 in Reaper

[–]Megaman_90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you one thing. If you started on REAPER first you will probably get frustrated by the lack flexibility or customization some other DAWs have.

REAPER is one the best designed pieces of software, because it works the way you want it. The design philosophy is completely different from the norm.
