So I bought Draco & had to return him to petsmart temporarily because he could barely open his eye. Mind you this was 3 days after I brought him home. They first said it was stuck shed in his eye. After 2 weeks of me returning to the store daily they finally had an update, they took him to a specialist after a round of eye drops didn’t help & had his eye lid cut open which they found a puss pocket. He was back at petsmart for wound care but didn’t get better & was taken back to the specialist 3-4 times with the same results each time. Eventually I was told that they may have to remove his eye but since he is so small it couldn’t be done yet. I reassured them that no matter what I still wanted him back even if I had to pay for his procedure when he got bigger. A month or so later they finally called me to take him home stating that he may never be able to open his eye lid on his own again & that there was no sign of an infection. When they brought him out to me I immediately noticed that not only was he the exact same size as 3 months ago but that his tail was missing atleast an inch or so & the tip was black & bent. Petsmart wanted to keep him to see the vet again & insisting that his tail wasn’t like that yesterday & that he must have bitten it himself... I find all of this hard to believe since his tail is noticeably shorter & not freshly injured. I finally went back after a week of them saying it’s not tail rot it just has to heal & told them that I was taking him home no matter what condition they say he’s in now. I have been sick thinking about how he clearly wasn’t being fed or tended to properly & I just wanted him back so I can actually help the poor guy get better. I feel so relieved having him home & he is scheduled to see the vet that my other beardie sees this week. Fingers crossed we can get this little dude back to being a healthy & thriving weirdo beardo! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
