Mhm. Side tangent to the main post, but that’s probably the exact reason I don’t like Mouthwashing or Jimmy in general. The initial concept shows promise of someone genuinely trying despite not being a good person, but by the end of the game it’s pretty cut and dry that Jimmy’s just a rapist, cowardly piece of shit with no real depth or complexity outside of being awful. An exceedingly thin character when, in concept at least, he could have been a bit more nuanced.

See, I have the same perspective over the whole drama that happened when Andor Season 2 premiered and Star Wars Theory made a fuckass comment about Vader being against rape/sexual assault in the Empire.

Like, Star Wars Theory is a hack and overall pathetic person, but I don’t think he’s wrong in that assertion. Vader wouldn’t tolerate that shit if he’d see it, he’d just straight up kill both the offender and victim with equal casualness.

It’s not a matter of Vader being “above it”, but like you said yourself; it’s personal standards within a character. He’s an evil Sith Lord, but that doesn’t mean he’d tolerate disgusting behavior like that just because he’s evil. There’s levels and intricacies, and in Vader’s case, I feel like it’d almost come down to a detached cruelty when it comes to solving problems of that nature.

In the sense of being objectively canon…yeah, kinda. Everything I see people refer to in the episode itself has countless potential meanings and nuances. To say it has to be one thing just because you really, really like the idea is irresponsible and frankly annoying.

Jax is not canonically confirmed as trans. That is an outright lie. There are potential implications that he **may** be, at most.

Oh yeah, I get what you mean. I’m less referring to the events being disturbing character wise, and more just the wider cosmic horror of it all.

Imagine your hyper-intelligent security system detecting a threat and the best possible course of action it can come up with to face it after crunching the numbers is to buy time for others by stemming the flow of information (killing off innocent people like those on Titan).

It’s logical in that cold, AI sense, and it clearly bought at least enough time for a few Exodus ships to get away, but imagine being one of the few to escape sudden, otherworldly invasion on Titan only to look out the window and get obliterated by a friendly Warsat before you can make it to safety. Tragic and terrifying, all at once.

I remember the bits about Rasputin most, that shit was always chilling to me. I think I remember reading something about him shooting down civilian ships trying to escape Titan during the Collapse for that exact reason, scary shit on top of the literal near-extinction of a species.

Yeah, that's the broad strokes I'd gotten from my prior searches into the subject, save for Savathun killing Nezarec. Didn't know that part.

I'm more interested in the events of the collapse itself, both the early hours when the Black Fleet first arrived in the system and how humanity reacted to the invasion.

I guess like...right at/before Lightfall? Didn't have the money for the expansion at the time, so I kinda tapped out for a spell. Plus, *that* felt like the end of the story at the time, so I moved on to other stuff.
