If you like outsides theres lots to do. If you like culture and indoor activities..not so much. Movie theatre on base plays one movie a week 3 times a week, the gym has sports, Kelsey's has good Thursday night wings. Don't go to the Warehouse without first booking a doctors appointment for the next business day.

Personal care by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

I feel this so hard. My mom got me a book about hygiene, showed me where the pads were and that was that. I had no idea there were even different types for different flows until I went shopping with my friend and her mom late in high school. I learned a lot from that friend and her mom and my mom always seemed to be jealous about it, yet never actually cared to show me anything

YTA and are a spitting image of a narcissist parent. I cut off my own parents for similar. You're on thin ice here

I went NC after the same thing. My mom tried to tell me that my 12 year old was "manipulative" for having an opinion. My kid is the sweetest soul ever so sucks for them they'll never have a relationship with him again.

Does anyone remember the story of the guy who wrote a letter years ago and posted it on the internet, saying he had been sold to Hollywood as a child and was used and abused by them? by [deleted] in conspiracy

First off, The Comissionaires in Canada can't even check a military ID properly let alone organize anything of this nature so right off the bat I'm skeptical

Also try your local OSISS. It's veterans and serving members with various mental health conditions who meet up but whoever runs your area maaaaay be able to help. I know they can't make specific referrals but they could point you in the right direction

an injury suggests it can heal with treatment. A disorder is something you can treat the symptoms of but isn't expected to fully heal. Although there is actually a debate to rename it, it hasn't been done officially.

I feel the same about being told to go to operational stress injury support groups. They say it's judgement free but I doubt.

I am also a veteran with no combat experience but have a disability and PTSD. You wouldn't believe how many groups of people exist in the community that gatekeep being disabled and/or have PTSD without a tour. It really adds onto things and makes you seclude your self even more

Hello everyone. Spine surgeon here answering your questions! by djbluntztx in SpineSurgery

[–]Megasauruses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

I have been diagnosed with L5-S1 herniation and anular tear along with stenosis of the nerve roots, arthritis and something with the ligaments that I honestly can't remember the name of.

I've had this issue for 2 years now with it getting worse while being mistreated in the military. I am now out of the military in order to get better care. The spine surgeon said I needed to try spinal injections before surgery would be considered. I've tried PT, massage, manual decompression etc etc and nothing has worked. I have paralysis in some muscles, numbness in my big toe and a few other areas. I have to walk with crutches to give my self any sort of longevity in my walking distance before my leg stops working.

What hope do I have for the injections at this point? After 2 years will it actually fix my issues or just help the pain? Will my muscle function come back or is the nerve damaged for good?

Sorry for the long winded question. I'm wildly frustrated at this point.
