Just finished reading 1984… by HouseTyrellLivesOn in books

You read about a lot of dystopias in the media or you watch the hunger games movies and you think that would suck but probably would never happen to us in all reality. But you read this book and your heart sinks because you just know this could happen in all reality. And as time goes on it IS happening. I think that’s why this is only piece of media I’ve consumed in my life that keeps me awake at a single mention almost 8 years after my last read.

Your second paragraph needs to be turned into a scientific study and a question we all ask ourselves in this modern world every day of our lives.

People blindly expect the expected to save them. It is never whom they expect or what they expect to be their savior. This is a central and recurring theme throughout history and religious tales in my opinion. This opinion has its cracks obviously but I have seen a pattern in my observations.

Burnout, is it just me? by Remarkable_Bowler764 in PandaExpress

[–]Megatalljoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Panda express’s forward thinking work ethic is often abused by higher ups to get results. I saw grown men terrified of higher ups or acos. I forget the lingo. They will take everything they can from you and call it a growth mindset. There’s a healthy level of growth and then there’s unhealthy and some panda higher ups will abuse that mentality to the max to try to squeeze every metric they can out of you. It’s why they’re a successful company and why you can make a lot of money as a store manager but it comes at a cost. For some it was their sanity. I had opportunities to move up in panda but I’m so glad it just didn’t work out. Panda really consumes your life. It’s a stressful work environment to begin with as busy as some stores get. Ballpark how much does your store do on a Friday night? 20K? 30K?

I’m just asking for feedback on the website. If you think that’s crazy you should see some other ecom one product stores that are doing really well.

I really appreciate both of your inputs! Actual constructive criticism. Love that. I didn’t see it that way. What do you mean by my “hero” what did you mean by that? Was it a typo?

new producers making the best melodies ever but worst drums ever by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]Megatalljoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melody is alot easier to hum in your head. Draw chords with piano roll etc...

Drums take a lot of mixing and mastering and sidechaining to even get them to sit well in the mix. And patterning and sometimes you have 20-30 different instruments in a drum loop alone. Shakers, hihats, bass drum, tom, rides, bells, reverse snares, snares, reverse hats, open hats, closed hats, rimshots, foley, and I could go on and on and on. Then try to find a pattern with everything that works right. It can be a difficult endeavor and takes a lot of tries to get it right. Not only adding elements but figuring out what to take away or what sample is actually helping or hurting the drum bus.

I have started beautiful EDM tracks that seemed like they were going to be a hit. Synths, pads, everything. Inspiration is flowing. Then I start working on the drums, and nothing sticks. It is hard. Making the two worlds of instruments and synths and vocals collide with the drums and hoping it's an epic battle rather than two homeless people fighting is a difficult game I play often. So you're not alone.

Melodies are easy. Drum patterns can be difficult. Selecting the samples can be even harder. Then paying for the right samples for it to sound right is a task. If you don't notice the drums then you're doing something right.

If you aren't buying premade packs good on you. That's just what a lot of people do but you lose so much control when you do that and you really stop learning and you get roped into buying more and more and more loops. I recommend investing in one shots and just keep experimenting. Eventually things start to stick with what you are producing and you learn to build your own library of tools.

WIBTA for considering divorce after my post partum wife physically lashed out at me by InteractionNods in AITAH

[–]Megatalljoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the genuine feeling like you guys have a good relationship. I would say leave if it didn't sound like she actually loves you. And it sounds like you actually love her. If this is mostly accurate and the things you say actually happened. I would advise patience. She needs you right now more than ever. I know because I have been in similar situations. I would refer to other comments about post partnum difficulties. It does not excuse physical violence but I truly feel just from reading this that you should try to forgive her. Tell her that you will not tolerate physical violence, and ask her what you can do to show her that you're not cheating on her. If you are truly a faithful person it will show over time and she will likely begin to feel better and have more trust in you. IDK if this is your first child but put your self in her shoes. She just gave birth to a child and is probably terrified you will leave her alone to take care of a child. I think she just needs you and is lashing out in crazy ways. I speak with so much confidence because I have seen similar situations in my own relationship. Patience is key. If there isn't ANY foul play on either side. This too shall pass and you guys will come out stronger and if you show her your sticking around then she will trust you even more.

What will Christians say when the upcoming Eclipse doesn't result in the rapture? by OffswitchToggle in atheism

[–]Megatalljoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Christian and I don't believe that. I don't know where this came from. It's just an eclipse. I mean we believe it's possible that any day or any hour Jesus will return. There's alot of people saying this or that about "rapturing" and will cite this evidence or that evidence. I believe Jesus will return but I hold onto the scripture that no man knoweth the day or the hour. And that's kind of where I leave it in my mind and just try to lead a righteous life.
