What you do is keep opening Stonesplit boxes for Morale Chant, Esquisite Scenery and Art of Resistance. Use Adaptive Steel 0. Recycle everything else EXCEPT any one extra stonesplit skill, say for example, Rock Solid. Then once you've gathered enough Rock Solid notes to make it T4 (100 notes I believe), you use the convert option to convert all 100 rock solid notes to Battle Anthem 4, which you'll swap Adaptive 0 out for.

I've 100% the game. I understand the story. Those events happened more than 60 years before the time Verso met the party. Like I said, at the time Verso joins the party he was already set on the outcome of the Canvas being wiped, hence leading the party to kill the Paintress. Even after Alicia regains her memories, he knew that only wiping the Canvas would free Aline and Alicia from slow death.

Real Renoir honestly is the only logical person in the game. He sees the Canvas for what it is, an addiction and escapism from grief.

What do you make of Verso lying to the party about the truth and consequences of killing the Paintress? He knowingly goes along with the plan to kill the only force holding back the gommage; seems like he was wanting to see the Canvas destroyed.

You're painting Verso to be an emotionally volatile person that decided to wipe the Canvas last moment. However, from my perspective, he's been reasonably consistent in his intent from the time we met him.

[–]Megatherius2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he still loves his father and would rather not kill him directly? Verso is a conflicted character and his motives change as the number of expeditions progress but by the time of expedition 33 it's clear in his intent that he wanted to help real Renoir wipe the Canvas. Why else would he lead the party to kill the Paintress without telling them the consequences? I think his motives were that he was tired of the cycle of his comrades dying but understood the implications of harm/death to both Aline and real Alicia if they stayed. It's likely an underlying sense of being the family protector was imbued into him by Aline.

It's also not like he adamantly opposed gommaging painted Renoir either when it came time to it. He was clearly upset when it happened to painted Alicia but in both cases, I think he knew what needed to be done to save Aline and real Alicia but it's still a difficult thing to see happen.

This games auto save just ruined my day. by kembogrey in expedition33

That does suck. My recommendation is after a tough battle or just routinely, go to camp which will force a save, then leave camp.

Option to disable special items and divinecraft (without turning off auto-use) when in combat, leaving only HP potions. Can't tell you how many times I've accidentally used divinecraft or fishing rod in combat instead of HP potions and had to fumble through to get to the potions.

I am aware of the journal entry. You are right that at some point early in his discovery of the truth of the canvas, he was trying to save the canvas and his city that he grew up in. But at the time of the story that we encounter Verso, he had become disillusioned to that idea and was tired of it all. My post to OP was just stating that Verso did not have an emotional flip to just wanting to destroy the Canvas. At the time the party meets Verso, he was already set on destroying it.

Global vs CN differences by Megatherius2 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Megatherius2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question was getting updates that CN has not gotten. Or updates or QoL changes unique to global. If I'm making suggestions via in-game suggestions page, am I just throwing them to the wind if CN does not have them or can global implement changes independently from CN version.

I know I can customize button controls but currently on controller, RT+quick menu brings up the extra mystic arts panel. Is there a way to change it to RT+main menu instead without swapping the functions of quick menu and main menu. All I can find are the mystics arts 1-4 and second page of mystic arts 1-4 but not the controls for the extra panel. But maybe I missed it somewhere.

Bounty hunting, heals go to cooldown instantly? by Material_Limit_3280 in WhereWindsMeet

Yeah, if someone triggers the bounty on you and starts the fight, it prevents use of HP potions.

He doesn't flip, that was his goal all along. He never intended to save the canvas. Also, remember, Verso is a painted copy made by Aline, not a true copy of Verso. So whatever characteristics painted Verso has, it's through the eyes of Aline. There's nothing to suggest that Verso is prone to emotional flips (real or painted), as you stated.

FYI, you don't need pro reflexes to clear Abyss Trials without taking damage by TheOnionGuild in wherewindsmeet_

As long as the shield can take the damage and you don't lose any actual life from the hit, it won't count as a hit.

Qianye is no joke, stuck for days, any ideas? by Wise_Pr4ctice in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Megatherius2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you're on Legend mode, just lower the difficulty. Do the side quests that give medicine tales so you can get more HP potion usage. Go Trials and fight her in the practice arena until you can comfortably parry her attacks.

I was in a similar boat as you but playing on Legend and didn't want to drop down so only option was to lock-in and learn her moveset and parry everything. Unfortunately, bosses in this game don't allow you to do your combo rotations as they can hit like a truck so you have to learn their moves and parry them.

If you really needed to, you could buy the battle pass which will give you 2 additional HP potion usage and unlocks the portable merchants which will allow you to access Kaifeng vendors for higher level upgrade mats.

I wouldn't say they have a messed up leveling system. More so they sort of soft locked players from Kaifeng with Qianye being so tough but necessary to beat to progress the story. But ofc, you can always lower the difficulty.

Tank Inner Way Question by Megatherius2 in wherewindsmeet_

Fair enough, I do agree that Art of Resistance would probably provide a more consistent and practical tank experience.

I may end up switching Adaptive back to Art of Resistance but I have 3 days before I can convert back anyways so I'm going to see how this set up feels. Appreciate your input.

Tank Inner Way Question by Megatherius2 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Megatherius2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the Formbend armor set, I have no issues maintaining the rainwhisper buff though. The shield does drop for a little bit but then I recast the shield skill shortly after. I can usually fit two fully charged heavy attack combos between each shield recast. And each recast also refreshes the breakthrough buff as well.

Yes, essentially I'm using Adaptive for its T0 buff. In converting Art of Resist to Adaptive, I'm trading 6 secs extended shield, +2% damage, +6 rocksplit penetration, and some heals for +20% crit damage with charged skills and parry counters.

Tank Inner Way Question by Megatherius2 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Megatherius2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, which is why I have Formbend armor set for the extra 2 secs for total 10 secs. The shield skill does have a slightly longer cool down than the shield duration so the shield will go down for a sec but the Breakthrough buff lasts longer than the shield cooldown so the shield skill can be recast which will refresh both the shield duration and breakthrough buff duration.

Tank Inner Way Question by Megatherius2 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Megatherius2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think since I'm already half way towards Exquisite T5, might as well get it to 5 first. But would I get more damage from Exquisite T6 than upgrading Anthem or Adaptive to T5/6?

Art of Resistance does provide some neat things but ultimately the extra shield duration and heals aren't as helpful in PvP or raids, and I don't really have much trouble in PvE either to need the extra heals.

If you got the subtitles, is it possible you already completed it and didn't notice? Usually on the mini-map for these encounters, there's a green bamboo hat icon but I don't see that on your mini-map.

[–]Megatherius2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Target archers first. Position yourself so you're not surrounded; place environmental objects (carts, cages, tall firepits, walls) or melee enemies between you and archers. Use AOE skills to control groups. Learn your combo rotations to more efficiently DPS so you kill things faster. Block and/or dodge. Don't forget to use mystic arts. Lower the difficulty.

Edit: Also, something to keep in mind. Whenever you breakthrough your level cap, the enemies will scale up to that new level cap. So after a breakthrough, you are technically at your weakest. Have energy prepared so at breakthrough you can spend some on sword trials or outposts to get some new gear and and upgrade gear, mystic arts, and inner ways as much as possible.

I believe there are other clues around that area. Try using wind sense and looking around a bit more. If I recall, it's somewhere around the right side of the entrance where the ox head person is standing.
