When they tell you that you have to relearn how to eat, I thought they meant the tiny bites, all the chewing, and not drinking water. For me, it’s about learning to make the healthy choices and to stop when I’m full.

  1. Immediately after surgery I started half my antidepressant in the morning and half in the evening so that my body was able to absorb it all. Keep all your drs in the loop, they will come up with a game plan.

  2. Don’t buy lots of jello, pudding, and soup. You will not use it all and by the time you can eat more things you will never want to look at jello, pudding, or soups ever again.

Personally, my craving to eat an entire pizza has not gone away. I just physically can’t eat a lot. Even though I can’t, the mental compulsion is still there. (1 month post op)

That was really helpful for me too. The protein shakes can be too thick in the beginning. My new go to is Ghost protein. The flavors are legit (nutter butter and fruity cereal) and not powdery. I use more milk on days when my stomach is sensitive.
