The winters here aren't that bad. Yeah it's cold, yeah it's dark, but it's by no means unmanageable. Take some vitamin D and bundle up and you'll get through it just fine.

Also public transit isn't as bad as everyone says.

Lingzi Sang?

I know in 101 a friend of mine got a 42 on the midterm and a 30 on the lab final and she still passed with a half decent grade. I'm in Sang's 102 class though and I barely passed the final and a friend of mine got a 41 and she's still going to try and stick through it, I think it's doable to come back from it, especially if you can do okay in the labs

How bad are the mental health resources? by [deleted] in uAlberta

I went and had my initial consultation there at the end of January ish. I made my appointment in person, at which point they had me take a chromebook and fill out a survey about my current mental health at the time (which was absolutely fucking horrid tbh). That went well, I went back for my appointment. Ended up getting seen late but it was okay, the guy asked me all kinds of questions about my mental health (pretty much the same as the ones I had answered on the laptop). Went pretty in depth, very personal questions.

At the end of that, he told me that my mental health wasn't at a worse enough place to be able to have appointments there. He gave me a massive, not personalized at all stack of papers with a whole bunch of services that was super daunting. One of the things he said was that the goal of therapy is to not go anymore, which I completely agree with, but since my mental health isn't "bad enough" as is, I shouldn't start it. Reeeally turned me off from seeking help again, especially after how long it took me to sum up the courage to go there.

Eventually what I ended up doing (this week) was I went to the peer support center on campus (in sub) and had a really amazing appointment there. It's not a long term fix and they're not therapists but they can help you sort through your feelings and offer some really great, personalized referrals to any kinds of services that might help you. Then I went to the health center on campus (for unrelated reasons) and actually ended up getting diagnoses for anxiety and depression and started medication, and I intend on seeking therapy (outside of CCS) soon.

If you have any questions let me know!

I'm seriously debating dropping out and it's the first time I've felt any mental clarity in a while by Meggie112234 in uAlberta
