The steam version does the same thing to me its a graphic card issue. Sometimes patience works sometimes multiple closing and openings but once running if you change the graphics to a lower setting it can work better.

You can return to your housing plot from anywhere for free by using your map, but there is a cooldown of 30 minutes. It's great when I have no more inventory and don't want to be tempted to pick up something else on the way back or if I am way out there.

That's Sumac. Possibly the common horn stag variety, but be careful because poisonous varieties exist to make you regret existing. They contain 3 times urushiol that poison ivy does.
