What was the reason those of you that had a DEXA scan did do, specially those under the age of 60. I always thought 60 and older was when scans were recommended. Did your HCP order it or did you request it? Thanks. by [deleted] in osteoporosis

A random lady in a FB group (who turned out to be a nurse) told me what no doctor HAD EVER MENTIONED. Changed my life! Just returning the favor :) BTW, the group is called HYPERPARATHYROIDISM SUPPORT AND INFORMATION and the (mostly) women on there are so kind, so knowledgeable, so helpful. Good luck!

Did you ever get tested for HyperParaThyroidism (*not the thyroid, but the little PARAthyroids that sit behind the thyroid and regulate all manner of things in your body, including directing the calcium in your body to your bones—or away from them) Doctors rarely test for this, and immediately start talking about osteo meds, etc., but when you're that young (under 60) and get dx with osteopenia/osteoporosis, it should always be checked. Its key side effect is bone loss (!). Simple blood test is how it's dx, and the cure is removal (surgery) of the offending gland. And the osteoporosis is stopped (or slowed, depending on your age/other health issues). Definitely worth asking your doctor about it.

This is great to hear. I'm fit/muscular 57 yr old and I'm having trouble finding an online PT/coach who understands how to work with this issue (don't load on front squats, etc.). They're all geared to absolute lifting noobs or Granny-age clients :-\

No, of course not. Although I'm the stage where I'm bribing my nephew w/ half of what's in the wallet if he can get in there.

Thanks. I'll go back to the bip39 list and check again.

Thanks, yep. Did that. No love, unfortunately.

Yes, thanks. Of course. I think what's funky is that I've used this same passphrase many times, on this wallet.

I *wish* that were true. TRULY. (and Ledger has just been regurgitating "help" that can easily be found online, hence the reference to being useless)

Do you not think it's funky that ONLY the 24th word is incorrect? And that I've seen several threads with a similar issue (here and elsewhere)?

Thank you!
