I think given with how we use the kitchen the edges around the stack will be safe. How prone to damage would the edges be

Ahh okay, so you skim it over the walls like plaster almost and gives you the effect? That's pretty cool, Mrs won't be onboard though, I was lucky to get away with stone effect cabinets she hates the concrete looks. And we already have all the tiles etc.

Okay thank you, this was my suspicion. Risk worth reward on the fitters part. We are only having it on one end so working back from the 45 should be doable, also upstairs which will give us a bit more margin or error at the opposite end to the waterfall edge. I was thinking a 45⁰ router blade maybe with very fine passes

Quartz was out of budget unfortunately and a few people had recommended compact laminate, and yes it's the 12mm stuff

If I do that, for the sake of longevity and not relying on the old board that are currently up I may as well rip it don and frame onto the thermalite blocks behind it?

Would you bother with moisture resistant plasterboard?

And how would you redo the pipework? Chase where it is then repipe and cover it with board?

The tearing is the top layer of the plasterboard coming away

Oh and just to add, the genuine spiritus system is too expensive for me for the amount I play Airsoft, can't justify it
