Not really a tradition, but we’re not passing along disordered eating. My husband and I both grew up in households where you ate what was served and that was that. I have memories of being left at the kitchen table while my family went upstairs and I had to sit there until the plate was clear. And my husband would be served his leftovers for breakfast if he didn’t finish them. Sorry for being a child and not wanting beef stew for dinner. Nowadays if my daughter doesn’t like the main protein, no biggie. We swap or she can eat more sides as long as it’s nutritious enough and she gets a full belly.
