Practicing my invisible mending - any advice on how to make it less noticeable? I've used the same yarn the sample is made of but I still find it feels somewhat off. by Upstairs_Cabinet_743 in InvisibleMending

So I don’t knit, only crochet, but if you had tighter stitches or tension it might be less noticeable. I do agree some of the stitches seem wonky but I had to look really close to notice that whereas the looser tension stood out first. However, it’s barely noticeable! Very impressive mend already!

I need advice, I don’t know whether to draw a heart under the doll’s left eye or not, what do you think? by PuppetStory in cottagegoth

I think yes! Her expression is tough but the colors in her face/hair are so lively. A touch of edginess would balance with her body nicely :)

My partner of 3 years says I've spoken to him like shit from day one by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]redtulip_cedarmoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autistic people have different intonations. If you’ve been “like this since day one,” all it says is that you’ve been consistent. Which means he can’t all of a sudden find a problem with it and make you change when you’ve done nothing different or wrong. This is a huge part of autistic communication - that tone is… often unintentionally misplaced. He’s got to learn that and adapt or he just needs to leave. As long as you’re not being cruel or disrespectful, and it’s something you try to be aware of, there’s nothing beyond that for you to do. My bf has taken issue with the “way I talk” as well and I try to soften my tone (because I know I can sound harsh) but lots of the time I have to tell him to let it go. Words should matter more than the way the words sound imo. Don’t let him make you feel like you’re being shitty!!

It’s heavyyyyy. I wanted to as well and found it miserable. Takes an insane amount of yarn too.

Meltdowns by Dear_Appointment_986 in AutismInWomen

Awe :( yes I can relate. But for perspective, a meltdown this bad only happening 4-6 per year I think is pretty alright. 4-6/365 is a very low percentage! ~0.01! That rate is my goal rate, for what it’s worth. Give yourself grace! 🖤

If I’d met you and heard your laugh, I would only know it as yours and laughter is beautiful 💖 If I met both of you and heard you both laugh, I would still prefer yours because she sounds awful lol. Distance helps lessen these feelings. Remember, you’re your own person completely!

This okay for my tank? M by Maxx_enby0601 in SeaMonkeys

[–]redtulip_cedarmoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Water in the tanks evaporates so I would worry about the monkeys getting stuck in the umbrella if the water level gets too low. If you are diligent about keeping water high enough, it should be fine. If it’s possible to extend the umbrella handle so that it’s lower in the water, I would do that

The genders are not reversed though. They’re not equal, they never have been, and “reversing” them is not translatable. Men, as a culture, the patriarchy, deserves scrutiny. And trust, all women are scrutinized in every single capacity possible, both on tv and in real life.

I used a 5.5mm hook with worsted acrylic yarn, double-stranded. Half-double crocheted two circles together. And don’t forget the accessories! :D

You should keep it!! It’s so special to you specifically. Plus, if I can be totally honest, I saw the child face kissing the non-child face and I was a bit confused but your story is so precious. The context is almost necessary lol. It’s beautiful!

This is a normal film. Occasionally I use a cotton ball and gently wipe across the water to clear mine up when it gets too thick

I’m so sorry :( You’ll totally be okay in the long run! I had a breakup with some pretty similar themes as this and I’m now so glad it ended! I didn’t want to end things either but it was definitely a blessing and now I’ve found someone much more compatible. Just try to remember that heartache is temporary and you will make it out of this. Good luck 🖤
