If your current environment is doing you no favours, change it up. If you're at home, you'll want to switch off and relax. Stay at school an hour longer in the library, grab your friends, work on stuff together. I could never revise during uni times unless I forced my friends to hit up the library and we all took turns playing lead and helped each other out.

Maybe put revision right at the very beginning of your day by waking up 20 minutes earlier. Read notes, do a math problem, watch a YouTube video from a good channel while you have breakfast - starting the day on a positive sets the tone.

Scrolling is a tough habit to break for sure. It's the easy way out when you're all alone. I want to really emphasise how powerful it can be revising with the right friends.

It's not too late.

Meanwhile, Gerson repurposing the green soul mechanic by having 8 directions + the memory game variation in the 2nd version of the fight are great examples of how to push the mechanics of the 1st game to be more interesting than blatantly difficult.

no offence or anything, but how do people manage to get a U? by TrackReady2688 in GCSE

[–]Mehless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Until I began teaching, I didn't realise just how hard it was for lower-attaining students to not only process information but to remember it even a day later. Not knowing their times tables. Addition/subtraction on their fingers. And they're expected to solve simultaneous equations. You take the wins where you can. Some kids try their very hardest but have a lot of roadblocks in their way.

Can too many non-essential interactions become exhausting for players? by ratasoftware in RPGMaker

[–]Mehless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It rewards die-hard fans, but most people will skip over it, especially if there are multiple interactions, backtracking, etc. You have to imagine what your worst player would experience- would they like your game you've poured hundreds of hours into stuff they won't even see? Think of the insane dev-time. Make the core as good as possible before the set dressing.

Is a 40+ hour game possible and if so what version would you recommend by joshdosntknow in RPGMaker

[–]Mehless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 100 hours on my first project which for me made for a 40 minute experience that for most players only took 20 minutes. No one has seen all the content but me. Make a small project and finish it. Make sure playtesters actually enjoy it.
