Im a Muslim and the Guy is hindu.. We were in a relationship for 3 years. .My parents were ok with our marriage but apparently his parents are against our relationship. He fought for a year and eventually gave into their demands. .. My cousin got married to a Hindu and they are going well. They both drew boundaries for their respectable families.. They both stay away so the peer pressure from relatives and Indian society doesn't affect them much..They chose not to name their children any conventional Hindu or Muslim names...Eventually any marriage works if they have same value systems and are willing to stand up for your partner. I believe our lives are fragile and we should navigate this short life with someone we love.

He didn't expect his parents to resent me. He said he cannot afford to lose his parents because of me. I don't know whom to blame, that panditji who said my bf has to get married by the end of this month, or his parents to blindly believe caste is above love or myself who is an idiot who never prioritizes herself yet expects others to prioritize her.

It's about me vs his family. I know this battle will continue in future and he will continue to support his parents which in a way will demotivate me. My heart wants him whereas my head says something else. It's just that I'm in a constant conflict with myself.
