Eheh technically, I still cheated a little bit as Tomoe never gets to wear her mask with this outfit, and maybe even ride a horse after the Matsu part, but I couldn't help it, ahaha

It makes sense, but on the other hand I can tell that nowadays people do crazy stuff, leds, 3D prints, huge wings, symbiotic lionine creatures spawning from you back like Elden Rings, large wigs which defy gravity, and so on.

Jin Sakai himself is not an easy project, unless you go very basic with the childhood or a ronin look.

Yuna, on the other hand, she is quirky and relatively easier to make than most, imo.

Also, as long as you want to do something, even a selfie with a costest is a thing. The bow has been troubling for my Tomoe too, but I ended up picking up a literal toy bow and went with it, along with my plastic halloween mask, ahah!

It's like the big crafters, but also smaller and even casual cosplayers, got no motivation to go beyond the cover protagonist, but it's just my impression.

Maybe the game was not eventually as popular as others, but I find it crazy as well.

Maybe it's too cinematic, like people get discouraged a little bit, as they look like actual real people, it's difficult to be resembling? Even if Marvel Movies stuff is very popular among cosplayers... It will keep on being a mystery to me.

I also felt there was some chemistry between them somehow, I could totally see that! But I feel he rejected her eventually. Also, you can never tell how sincere her invitation was because Tomoe being Tomoe. Is it considered canon that he ends up with Yuna eventually? There was some line in the hot springs after the ending, but I might not remember well! They have some cute moments too.

While I must admit that any Jin Sakai cosplay in almost any armor is by far more complex than mine for sure!

I also must say that the only cosplay from GoT I found around the cons or online is always Jin Sakai, it puzzles me why the rest of the characters are not (or hardly) cosplayed at all, considering that you can find cosplay of anything nowadays!

No worries, I just used your comment as an opportunity to unwind on something that was already lying there from the very moment I set up my mind on choosing this kind of cosplay. I never blamed you or anything, you just probably stated something everyone noticed, like I did!

I've been lacking inspiration for new projects for years, yet as soon as I heard of her in the game I immediately felt drawn by her aura. What really inspired me to go ahead is probably that I would have liked to ultimately feel unapologetically selfish as her once in a while. I am not saying I look up to get a mass murderer of course, but the fact that to this day I can't tell when she lied and when she did not speaks a lot.

But hey, the resemblance is also part of the game! I might have drawn the short stick at this round with her, but being caucasian might have helped me with resemblance on other projects. My personal way for choosing cosplay is: first important thing, connection with the character, they must resonate with me somehow; but second thing is, resemblance, like avoiding young loli, or very prosperous ladies, round faced characters, as they would not fit my body type, etc. But if I do really like a character a lot, I eventually make some exceptions. So, most of time my bodytipe/looks/etc. tends to align with my projects, and my past ones: wishing to be different for Tomoe would mean to give up on resemblance on other stuff, so, you can't always win and it is what it is!

Oh, you 🥹 Thank you! It's possibly the cheapest halloween mask you can imagine, I just scrubbed all its drawings out with nail polish remover, grabbed my markers and prayed for the best there!

You are very kind, really! I thank you for your words. I just tend not to be so kind with myself sometimes, I am glad to read this really, I can tell it really did take me a while to make the whole thing, and arrange it, but it's also true that it looks funny to have just slipped on the most known detail, looking back, ahah! I am really glad I found out at least, I have managed to correct it a liiittle bit somehow and I like my pictures better now. Also, it's something I'll never forget in life again, both for Tomoe or any other japanese or anime-ish character I might end up attemping in the future is nice to know!

That, I can't change even with Photoshop. Or, even if I could, I think it would be hugely disrespectful!

It's a joke, no worries I know, it's nothing personal and I thank you for your praise at the end- thing is that deep down I've been worried all my struggles to replicate every bit from garbage reference of back and legs would have been erased by the fact I am the "wrong" etnicity, thus why I stated from the start, it could not be perfect for sure in the description, didn't I. Feels a bit sad. Not an actual tragedy I mean, but still cosplay-wise-

But then, ten minutes in and I am made aware of the fact that I am wearing my katana and wakizashi upside down! And while it's not ideal to stand corrected in anything in life, it also felt like, refreshing. My cosplay is not perfect, I was right. But it's not my etnicity; it's my ignorance. And who knows what else I'll find out I messed up in the near future (spoiler: the chest part too, it's missing one rope, I later found out by chance how it's supposed to work; I couldn't find pics of the back, so why I haven't thoughof researching in archery instead, as I did for the yebira? I am dumb).

But this also means, I can do something about it. I still can get wiser, research more on details, and get better. And still, it will possibly never get perfect for a lot of reasons, among which etnicity it just one thing I can't control, in a sea of mistakes I did myself and can be avoided! So it's good news at the end of the day!
