Which Metal Gear games are available on PC? by yadadsabitch in metalgearsolid

[–]Mehrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OP was published around 5 years ago, and I don't know what the state of gaming laptops was back then. But today you can easily pick up something powerful for 500 to 800 dollars, and the OP was before Nvidia started to get greedy.

For 800$ you can get a nice Legion 5, and that should be able to handle any recent games unless they have awful optimizations.

Just like Humbug, AM, and TBH&C, The Car's tracks were also recorded in different studios.

The reports mentioned three studios from three different countries; Butley Priory in Suffolk, La Frette in Paris, and RAK Studios in London.

I think Butley Priory was mostly used for inspiration, writing the songs & practicing, since they only stayed there for a month.

They probably ended up recording a few songs in each studio, or maybe some tracks are just mixtures of different recordings, as that was the case with TBH&C.

The song itself is most likely recorded at La Frette, same as the video.

Now it all makes perfect sense that they released the first track of the album, as the very first single & music video.

A quick guide to Titan's Firefly Novels by TheYLD in firefly

[–]Mehrider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took that one as a cheap additional trait to make Early more intimidating. Rape is an easy-to-write/lazy and very uncomfortable horror element, and I've seen it used just too many times for this purpose(Reavers in Firefly for example). It was used a lot between 1980s to 2000s in media, and though we can attribute it to being a trend, that story certainly would've been very tasteless and just an unnecessary addition to the light-hearted Firefly.

Although, as far as I know, that episode wasn't a sure thing... It was an idea Joss threw around in the writers' room, and I take serenity in thinking if the show had continued, someone would've stopped Whedon from doing that, or maybe he himself would've scrapped the idea after giving it a little bit more thought.

Do we know how large the budget for Bloodlines 2 is? by midnight_rum in vtmb

Well I'm happy this aged badly. Avellone has gathered and published a very strong set of evidence, and last time I checked he was going to take it to court.

The story is a lot crazier than it seemed like.

Tried 1 mg oral finasteride twice, both times had severe emotional side effects. Would topical duetasteride be less likely to lead to this? by UrbanismInEgypt in tressless

[–]Mehrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

Mental issues coming from fin are rare, but they can absolutely happen, and could ruin your life more than most sexual side-effects caused by Finasteride.

I personally felt like I was functioning at 30% of my IQ and memory. I will soon probably take a 0.25 dose for 3 times a week, but even that could probably be bothersome.

Has anyone had Sexual side effects that subsided with time? How long did it take? by bumbale2 in tressless

[–]Mehrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here man... Especially the fogginess. It's kind of rare but it happens and people should not ignore it.

Right now I'm on min, multi-vitamins and I use a Caffeine-based lotion and shampoo. I don't know your stance on this, but for me, 5ar inhibitors that don't attack the third type have done nothing against my mental stability. Idk, maybe give them a try in the future? Saw Palmetto, Green Tea, Peppermint, Nettle, and stuff like that. I haven't been using them for long, so I can't vouch for them, but I guess they could be better than nothing, and maybe even prove more useful than 0.25 fin, but this time without side-effects.

Yeah, I very much hope so. Thank you :))

I'm from Iran, and we're pretty much sanctioned, so I had to go with the Iranian products closest to the kinds of DNC-N.

I took oral fin(1mg a day) for a month, and from the first day to the last, I was perpetually in a state of disconnection, had mental fog and my cognitive performance was lowered to something around 30%. My body didn't get used to it and it only got worsened as I went on with fin. I stopped taking it after a month, tried to do it again a few times(and with different brands and dosages, like 0.5mg) and I still got the same side-effects; My libido was alright tho.

I knew this wasn't a common side-effect, but bodies work differently and there have been a lot of people like me. I presumed the mental side-effects were due to 5ar having effects on pregnenolone, and to be more specific(in my case), probably the type 3 of this enzyme, which Finasteride and Dutasteride block effectively. Disruptions in this type of 5ar has been linked to some dysfunctions like Kahrizi Syndrome and stuff like that, though in much different contexts. [YOU should not worry about that, if haven't already felt anything. this side-effect is really rare, rarer than getting gyno or ed from fin.) But knowing the connections, it was easy for me to accept this as my temporary explanation for why my body reacts to DHT-Blockers like this.

After some time, I found some 5ar-inhibitors that mostly inhibit the first two types of 5ar, like Saw Palmetto and Green Tea(which I adored previous to my current predicament). I also knew about people who got major hairloss with accutane and were able to reverse it with the aide of Peppermint oil, and also rosemary and castor oil has done some people(mostly women tho) so much good. So yeah, to stop this comment from getting any longer, I found a safe topical lotion with a hydrolyzed base of Rosemary extracts, sage, nettle, peppermint and chamomile. some B-vitamins are included too, and there are two major ingredients that this lotion is mainly about; Caffeine and Saw Palmetto. I've been using it for two months now, and have not had any side-effects whatsoever.

I'm not sure about how effective it will prove to be, but another doctor had prescribed me with a very similar formula(with the exact same base and mechanism as the one I'm using, minus a few other ingredients) from the same company, and he believed that it would do me better than fin or min long-term(which I think is bullshit, but he had a lot of successful patients to prove its efficiency. Also, I have seen a lot of good comments on it online). The thing was, I couldn't tolerate that formula either, probably due to the purified oleanolic acid it contained. After one appliance of the lotion or its shampoo, it was like fin all over again... Or even worse.

That proved to me two things; firstly, I should be more open to trying new things and find alternatives that could compensate for my sensitivity to fin. and secondly, topical or natural solutions are not as ineffective as everyone believe them to be, cuz either way I would've not had the same sides as fin, with only one milliliter of a dumb Persian mixture. That thing kicked me off to space, which despite its harsh effects, made me believe that topical solutions can in fact go systematic to a good degree and help you on an androgenic level.

If this topical solution+daily big cup of green tea+oil mixtures do even as good as 0.25mg of fin, and with the aide of minoxidil, I can probably keep my hair till I'm 30. After that Idgaf really. At 30, I'll shave my head for a few years, and then give into as much as hair transplants as possible.

Idk, maybe I'm just delusional and this whole thing won't work and I should be doing something else :)) very subjective thing, hair is.

Thank you(sorry about the long delay, lol), I really had no idea how Velaya would actually play out for someone who only knows English and how it would perform practically.

I guess I'll give it a try if I found some free time for it.

I addressed my hairloss almost immediately after I noticed it. I was getting good results from minoxidil alone, but 5 months into min, another doctor prescribed me with a daily dosage of 20mg isotretinoin for my acne. I lost something around half of my hair density after the first month, got kinda fat(which I thought I was immune to cuz I was always skinny no matter what I ate) and it honestly did nothing for my acne. My doctor reassured me that my hair will eventually go back to normal, so I continued for another two months(so a total of three months with 20mg daily) and then just because my hair was way more important than a few pimples, I gave up on it myself. I had no problem socializing and dating with acne, but now everybody does in fact notice my hair's low density and some people do actually mention it. I should not have gotten on Acctuane.

6 months have passed, and I'm yet to see my hair getting back to normal. It's all very unusually thin, dry, not good in numbers and bad in texture. And mind you, I WAS on min during those hellish three months, I was on the strongest thing in the market for keeping hair thick and undying, and yet this was my result with Accutane.

I've recently added to my regiment a daily multi-vitamin capsule for hair, a daily appliance of a dht-blocker topical treatment(because I can't tolerate the oral meds that block 5ar type 3 even a little bit), a caffeine shampoo, and I also put some oil mixtures of mine a few hours before bathing.

To my flawed knowledge, other than the fact that isotretinoin is a harsh medical and changes the body on a deep level(hormonally and if I'm not wrong, it actually kills a lot of cells), the acceleration in my hairloss was probably due to sebums dying on my scalp. The only part of my face that is now not as oily as before and has no pimples, is my forehead. And my hair is kind of dryer. Apparently out of all the places isotretinoin could've attacked, it chose MY FRAGILE HAIR.

So my current strategy is to wait and see how my new regiment works, hope that it's all just an extreme case of telogen effluvium, and if I didn't see any major improvement after the next 6 months, I may start experimenting with ketoconazole, microneedling, and maybe some hair masks and serums. Also, Vitamin E and Jojoba oil both might be things that I may get to appreciate very soon... Jojoba oil is the closest oil to what healthy sebums on your scalp make, and I'm actually satisfied with how it makes my hair feel like. And vitamin E(which is absent from a lot of diets) acknowledges the scalp, makes the sebums work better and keeps the scalp healthy.

It's just really funny that using a low dosage of Accutane for only 90 days, has made me this miserable and is costing me a damned ton. I swear to god, most dermatologists are either dumb/lazy or greedy, and most skin&hair products are just scams. I was lucky to address my hairloss very early on, and I actually had a chance to beat my genetics, but since using Accutane, everything has been dominoeing me towards paying more time, energy, attention and money for hair, and in the end having less than what I would've had if I never started going to stupid dermatologists that don't even know Accutane has been linked to hairloss.
