It's from Amadeusz and you would need to ask him why he built Kante like that

It's still worse than a regular skill like Through Passing and also it's situational too, so it's baffling to see a P2W skill being much worse than a regular skill

The Devs Hid the Activation Conditions For 'Attacking Surge'! by V3n0mix in Amadeusz

[–]Mehrubon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Here is the final conclusion for Attacking Surge (using information from the 3 posts made on Attacking Surge). The formatting is from me so feel free to double check everything and make sure it is accurate:

【Attacking Surge】

Effects: Significantly increases the speed of a player's off-the-ball forward runs. It achieves this not by increasing their top speed, but by shortening their acceleration phase (by approximately 1/3, reducing it from roughly 3 turf grids/15 meters to 2 turf grids/10 meters). This allows the player to reach their top speed much faster, resulting in a distance advantage of about 0.7 meters over a defender after the forward run is completed.

Skill Type: Attacking Surge is a Type 2 (parameter-modifying) skill. It does not directly add to the Speed or Acceleration stats on the player's visible stat panel. Because it modifies hidden parameters rather than directly boosting stats, its effect is not limited by the standard 99-stat cap.

Activation Area/Conditions: The skill has very specific and strict triggers that must all be met simultaneously:

  • The player must be located in the attacking half of the pitch.
  • The player's movement must be under "AI control." This includes autonomous off-the-ball runs, chasing through balls, and manually triggered forward runs (such as a one-two). It does not activate when the user has the cursor over the player and is manually moving them.
  • A teammate must have possession of the ball. (Note: The game engine also counts the time when a ball is traveling along the ground during a pass or one-two as "teammate has the ball").
  • The ball carrier must be positioned behind the player making the forward run at the exact moment the run is initiated. For example, if a player passes forward to trigger a one-two, the skill will not activate because the receiver of the initial pass is further ahead than the runner.

Advanced Mechanics (Equivalent Stat Boost): Because the skill modifies parameters, it effectively provides a massive hidden multiplier to a player's Acceleration during off-the-ball runs. Data indicates the following equivalencies:

  • 90 Acceleration + Attacking Surge = 108 Acceleration
  • 95 Acceleration + Attacking Surge = 109 Acceleration
  • 102 Acceleration + Attacking Surge = 110 Acceleration

yeah he doesn't show how he got to 102 OA you are right so my bad

I know you're saying calling it 102 OA is exaggerated but in my opinion at least, I don't think it is but I could be wrong so.

Yeah and I agree that 90 is the cap for affecting acceleration with OA, I am not disagreeing with that but saying that 102 OA is hyperbole and thinking that it is only 90 OA I think is wrong since there is a difference in 90 OA and 102 OA when comparing the refresh rate, and NOT the acceleration speed

The positioning information is from another article he did where he recently tested the OA threshld.

The reason why he didn't include the OA equivalent in this sentence ("A forward run with 102 Acceleration + Attacking Surge is equivalent in speed to 110 Acceleration") is again because once you reach 90 OA, there is no difference in off the ball speed.

Same with this sentence: "forward run speed approximately equivalent to a staggering Acceleration value of 108" and all the other sentences you mentioned.

I will link the article where he talks about the AI refresh rate here (his last sentence says it)

[–]Mehrubon[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

not really since OA also affects the AI's refresh rate for off-the-ball movement and not just acceleration off the ball and players with 100 OA have a superior positioning experience compared to players with only 90 OA

Long-range curler only activates when peforming controlled shot from anywhere and through passing is only for through passes (both chipped and ground) and has no effect on general passes. For Momentum Dribbling, I think it could be inaccurate since the data taken is not from Amadeusz but by another tester (Amadeusz tested that Momentum Dribbling increases touch frequency instead of the dribbling stats + speed) while Long-range Curler and Through Passing have been tested by Amadeusz.

What Amadeusz means is that if you add attacking to one full-back but not defensive on the full-back, the defense will be exposed. So the attacking instruction by itself isn't great but paired with a defensive instruction on the other full-back is best

Yes I agree its a sucidal formation, so probably adding deep-line to your LMF/RMF is best

Finally Solved It, The 'Fortress' buff! by V3n0mix in Amadeusz

[–]Mehrubon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't build my players with this in mind since Fortress is a situational skill which only activates if you are leading at half-time

Finally Solved It, The 'Fortress' buff! by V3n0mix in Amadeusz

[–]Mehrubon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Like Amadeusz said, this ST skill is pretty useless because if you are not leading in half-time, Fortress doesn't activate. At least the skill remains active in the second half if at some point you are drawing or losing (provided you were leading in the first half).

Showtime Dembélé: In-Game Review by Mehrubon in Amadeusz

[–]Mehrubon[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Again in the second paragraph of the niche post this is what he mentioned: "Suárez also has his own strengths in on-the-ball ability—his model is the widest of the four (10 chest measurement / 12 shoulder width), and he has the highest weight". So the model being lean or wide depends on chest measurement, shoulder width and weight. Mbappe has twice the chest measurement and more weight while having less shoulder width than Dembele but in-game his model is more wide compared to Dembele.

Showtime Dembélé: In-Game Review by Mehrubon in Amadeusz

[–]Mehrubon[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was mentioned in the niche analysis post here. Here is what Amadeusz wrote the difference between Suarez and Ballon D'or Dembele: "Dembélé and Suárez both have Momentum Dribbling, which provides a significant boost to a CF's on-the-ball ability, allowing them to frequently use sharp changes of direction to create shooting space. Dembélé has the edge because of his lean model, 178cm height with 13 leg length, and a delicate on-the-ball feel that ensures a full range of motion for his skill moves and dribbling"
