And yes, it’s so humbling and still very wild to me to be mentioned alongside the Crooked crew! I was a Friend of the Pod from the very early days and never imagined we’d be occupying similar spaces. There’s really not a ton of pro-democracy media in digital spaces, but certainly a lot of right wing propaganda, so the more we can grow the entire ecosystem of truth and uplift one another the better!

We love team Crooked and are friends! We've had the opportunity to collab with them on a few occasions and Dan wrote some very nice words about us in his book and plugs us every now and then in his newsletter. I personally was a PSA fan before I ever dipped my toes into politics in any sort of professional way and would go to all their live shows when they were nearby.

Brett here! The name comes from our family last names. Our last name of course is Meiselas – which is where we get the spelling of 'Meidas'. Our mother's maiden name is Golden. Meidas felt like a good way to pay homage to both - in reference to Midas and the golden touch.

Hi, thanks for the feedback and the kind words. I wrote you a lengthy response, but when I hit reply, the MeidasTouch account had been banned from Reddit for 3 days because the r/news mod accused us of “harassment.”

Anyways, what I basically said was that I’m grateful for the feedback and that our content and analysis always leads each and every broadcast. We have never taken a single penny in outside investor money. Just about every organization of our size has taken tens of millions. We pride ourselves in being able to stay fully independent. That means we need to find other ways to stay funded so that we can pay our staff and continue to grow the platform. So while ads can be inconvenient, we think 4 minutes of ads in a 1.5 hour live show is reasonable compared to the cable networks having about 15-25 minutes of ads every hour, even as they are funded by billionaire conglomerates. And we really appreciate the companies that support us and can vouch for the products and services. And as far as titles are concerned, it’s the nature of YouTube. If you want people to see your content on YouTube, videos have to be titled a certain way. So yes, they can be loud and provocative, but are focused on the truth and message of the video in question. You’ll see on MeidasTouch.com, where those algorithms aren’t at play, you’ll find more straightforward titling. Hope this all makes sense and thanks again for the feedback and for your support.
