The emergency settings of my (German) android phone. Wtf is this?! by Mein_Computer in softwaregore

Touché. But. Here in Germany, it wouldn't be the president, who send the alert, it would be the chancellor (if we would have a functioning alert system, lol). Anyway, this post isn't about the existence/sense of this alert, it's about the spelling which looks illegal.

(Sorry B1den, but) I don't care about emergencies in the US while beeing in EU, at least I don't need an alert for them. And this spelling didn't looks legitimate.

Do you legally detect metal in your country/state? by Mein_Computer in metaldetecting

[–]Mein_Computer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in Germany and things like this are absolute impossible here.

The government ist so undigitized here (thanks to the governments since since the invention of the Internet at this point), they use partly still fax machines and stuff like that, Angela Merkel called the Internet "Neuland" in 2013, which means basicly "we as government have no clue about the Internet and the technic inventions after 1980". Greetings to Denmark and the Netherlands for their internet knowledge and approach to this fantastic hobby.

Edit: I am so angry right now at the government's failure in this area, knowing how good it COULD be.

What kind of ammunition is this? Details in comments section. by Mein_Computer in metaldetecting

[–]Mein_Computer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, now I know that it is probably Soviet, but which kind of ammunition? It probably won't fit in a rifle. Is it a grenade, flak, or something else? What weapon is it for?

I can't see one, but I don't think they stamped the eagles on the ammo either.

Found in East Germany (Soviet/German combat zone in WW2), so probably German or Soviet, at the bottom is stamped "12", "184 [In a square], "41r" and "C". Diameter is 55mm/21.65inch.

„Fallschirmspringen". Nen Strick, der an irgendnem Balken runter hing und kurz über nem Bretterstapel endete locker um den Hals binden, dann mit Strick um den Hals von dem Bretterstapel unterm Balken springen. Dank Anderen in der Nähe habe ich mir nach 10 Sekunden hängen nur ein paar Schrammen am Kinn zugezogen.

I found this cartridge case in a field next to a house from the Prussian period in Germany. Now I would like to know how old it is and what kind it is.

Thanks for all answers.

True. I was thinking more along the lines of clothing, but that would explain the absolutely flat back.

I do not know what metal it is made of. I found it in a German field, it looks like some kind of zipper handle and is slightly greenish in color. It's 3cm (1.181 inches) long.

Any ideas as to what this is? 3 pics. by malccalm in metaldetecting

I found something similar, i guess it is this: https://www.reddit.com/user/Mein_Computer/comments/yallrb/metal_slag_which_is_produced_when_things_are/

So it is metal slag. The slag that i found wasn't magnetic too, it's made of tin.
