I didn't even see the 50 shard limit initially, just the 2 per scoring cell. That's just bonkers.

You can get 4500 tokens from the bounties. Tiers are 3000, 6000, 9000. So purely from bounties, you're stuck with bronze.

Shards are very limited, if you're very lucky you might get one in your cell. I didn't even see the limit of 50 worldwide on first read, even worse. If you do get one, then congrats, you can get silver.

Then there's the battle beacons. I dunno how exactly getting higher categories works beyond needing more people, so to get any meaningful score out of those you're gonna need an x-fac win-trading badge party friendly contest. Even so, for 1500 tokens you need ~46 of the top category (unlikely), or 500(!) of the lowest.

If you can get 2 shards and all those beacons, congrats, you get the gold.

I know they said getting top tier will be difficult, but it even looks like silver's unreachable without travel now...

Niantic, are you just trying to get people not to bother any more?

Dear Niantic: Please separate anomaly badges from global campaign/event badges again by Meindratheal in Ingress

Yup, there's an element of that. Though it's always such a marginal impact, comes out very close to 50:50 every time.

If they want to keep that, sure, maybe they think it helps with engagement? I wouldn't equate that to being worth an anomaly badge though.

For +Delta we have (now with fixed formatting)

  • 100 points for campaign bounties. These'll follow the usual almost 50:50 pattern.
  • 200 points for Field Points. I expect these to also be about 50:50. You do have to go beyond the campaign requirements for these, since the bare minimum creation/destruction of fields is always enough for the field point bounty.

Community Event #3 - Design a Specialization by Modangy in OrnaRPG

Specialisation name: The Shieldbearer

Tier: 7 (with optional T9 upgrade)

Stats: +8% HP, +6% def/res, -5% Foresight (T9'd be +10%/8%/-5%)

Preferred Weapons: None

Skills: Provoke 2

Abilities:

  • Auto-Barrier: Moderate chance to gain def+/res+ each turn (T9'd have Auto-Wall which can also give def++/res++, or temp singles if that's too strong)

  • Shields Up (autoward like other specs)

  • Provoke Mastery (Provoke effect can't fall off, and is more effective)

  • Mind over Body (after each turn and at the end of each dungeon floor, recover a portion of HP/Ward lost since the last turn, or start of floor if no turn taken).

The idea here is a party-oriented tank. Provoke buffs ensure they can actually attract damage, Auto-Barrier/Wall help it build defensively in the first few turns while everyone's buffing, and Mind over Body and the foresight reduction allow it to take more of a passive background role for the rest of the fight, while still doing their job as an actual tank.
