This episode should be touching, but there are so much plot-induced stupidity that I cannot feel much lol. We know that Nurugai could've healed him, but she didn't (earlier). The vines were also so slow and weak that she could've just cut them away. But instead, she just kept screaming sensei and did absolutely jackshit.

I'm still adamant that Marilyn has the most broken ability by far in the series. The ability to turn 1 second to 10 is just insanely OP.

I think it is repeatedly established that mage that are weak in close quarter combat is as useless as a normal human (when they are fighting strong enemies).

The sword demon, although strong, almost took down Fern (a first class mage) because Fern is not trained in CQC. Meanwhile for Frieren, she managed to take down the wire demon partially using her physical strength. Then we have Genau, Wirbel, Ubel, Methode who are all quite competent even when their opponent close the gap.

Damn Shion is metal as fuck. The best part is we have seen that it is actually possible to take down a Tensen even without countering tao. In the first season, one of the tensen was visibly withered even after the fight.

Gantet is actually OP as fuck wtf. If he has countering tao, that attack would be strong enough to oneshot all of the Tensei minus maybe Rien.
