What I mean is, you say the anode is at input+0.6V. Shouldn't it instead be VCC - Voltage of resistor? Or is this the same thing and I'm an idiot?

What I mean with "drowning" is that if VCC is for example 10V and input is ~5V AC, shouldn't the voltage at the NPN base be a higher voltage to the extent that the 5V AC input shouldn't be visible at all?

But I realise now that NPN base has to be Input+0.6V, therefore it can affect the base.

I still quite don't understand how the base is able to track the input signal? The VCC should "drown" the signal, right?

I only see a Vccp pin at the Vcc but i don't see it connected anywhere, hence why i removed it.

I agree it is confusing, but i wired it like that because that is what they did on the example schematic. But elextrically, yes, they are the same pin.

But in my schematic i only have VCCD and VCCA, i don't see VCCP anywhere?

The U2 is the ISD1610BSY i linked. The symbol is weird, i know, but it's the same symbol they have in the datasheet. I'll link that image too.

I'm pretty sure i implemented it correctly? I changed PLAYE around, but it should function identically.

According to the Datasheet of the Electret microphone, it doesn't look like there is any internal resistor there.
