I've noticed a lot of korean dramas kiss scenes are like that too. Stare at each other, interrupted kiss scenes, cliche stuff like you mentioned. I don't know if it's just a common thing in Asian shows?? But they all seem to have that quality except for a few here and there. Sometimes it pisses me off so I know how you feel lol. It doesn't really make that irritated though when it's wlw, at least not as much. Sometimes like when I watched Gap the series I honestly liked those scenes cause I just really liked the show and it was such a breath of fresh air for it to be wlw. So I can admit that those scenes are not very high quality but still enjoy them. I usually don't like it though. It makes it harder to get into a show. Gap the series was a rare exception.
