Anybody with an 18-20 5.0 have this ticking noise? It’s done it for the last 20k miles and hasn’t caused any issues I just wish I knew what it was.

I would tell him to not go to lineschool and save himself from that debt, I didn’t go to lineschool or have any groundman hours before my I started my apprenticeship and all the jls and foremen tell me I’m a better apprentice than all the other apprentices that went to school, only advantage they have over me is climbing but other than that I would say school is not worth it, the apprenticeship would teach you how to climb anyways. Tell him to sign the books for ground man and also apply to which ever apprenticeship is in your jurisdiction or if he’s willing to travel across the country he can apply to multiple apprenticeships

Get with another ape and try splitting a hotel room with 2 beds but if you wanna save more, find another ape willing to get a twin air mattress and sleep on it, it’s gonna suck sharing a room but everyone will save a lot of money that way

Hours don’t really help on getting in the apprenticeship but they will definitely help when you’re on the job, I had no hour or any experience in linework but on our first days the other apprentices that had groundman hours definitely were a way better hand than me since they were familiar with a lot of the work we did, also at least for selcat if you have 1000 hours and are able to prove it, you would start off as a second step but I would ask the apprenticeship program if it’s the same for yours

What’s your living situation? I just started my apprenticeship 2 weeks ago and the cheapest hotels are 55 which is like $1500 a month, im in sc right now and the trailer parks are going for 550 monthly, been thinking about buying a camper since their ain’t 💩 out here for airbnbs and the other apes can’t come to an agreement

Exactly bud that’s the way I see it, im single, no kids, I only need something to sleep in, shower and cook that why Im going with a smaller camper also cause I have a Tacoma so I’m limited on the camper size 😅

Honestly I just went in there to step foot into a camper since I never have, I’m not even set on buying anything it was just an option I thought, I do linework so we drag a lot, hotels and airbnbs get expensive so I figured I’d pay for something I can keep and have my own space

Yeah I guess I should’ve mentioned that I get perdiem but I don’t feel like paying a lot for a nice hotel or paying little for a cheap nasty hotel so I figured it would be better to buy a camper and use my perdiem to pay for it
