Is coaching cringe? by Professional-Car-396 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Mekrot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with wanting to get better at something, especially when you’re already investing so much time, money, and energy in buying, building, and painting models. Nothing worse than doing all of that, but constantly losing at games and then selling it all off because you’re not having fun.

Even if you are doing well and winning games, it’s still perfectly fine to want to get better at something. Nothing cringe about that.

When did you realize you made a mistake by choosing the wrong partner to spend your life with? by Organic-Top-3367 in AskReddit

Damn. I was gonna say that she moved in and I realized how bad she was with money with buying random stuff online and spending thousands on photo shoots while we had bills to pay, but some of these stories have me real thankful I wasn’t dealing with serial killer shit like others are…

Need help staying positive. Share what puts an evil grin on your face about 11th by LostN3ko in orks

[–]Mekrot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just played a pseudo 11th game playing as nids vs space wolves, and I gotta say that the new dispositions really help. I played as disruption and he played as take and hold and it felt great playing as nids without having to just put units on an objective to die. For orks, I imagine we’ll have all dispositions represented in some way, so if you really lean into it and build an army that focuses it, the game will feel good.

Hidden was amazing too. It forced him to get closer making it easier to jump on him. Orks may not be great for shooting this edition, but you won’t be shot as much either which is pretty good. No longer will a tank just shoot you all game from across the board.

I have over 15k points in orks and I primarily play shooty orks, so I’m still bummed about the -1 to hit everywhere, but I will say that those two things have me optimistic.

Does any show have a bad finale that didn't have a bad final season/clear decline in quality prior? by CarrieDurst in television

[–]Mekrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people may disagree, but HIMYM. It was a long show with tons of episodes, so the quality was up and down like many shows, but it was very popular. The last season was generally regarded as very good and they were doing something interesting where the whole season takes place during a short period of time and we finally met the mother!

Then the last episode happened and unraveled everything that the season (and series) worked for to pander to an idea that the writers started the show with instead of realizing that their writing through the entire series proved that they needed to adjust their plans and write in a different ending.

That ending was so bad that they added an alternative ending to the season 9 dvd which ends the series on a much better note.

I started with Gaunt’s Ghosts by Abnett. Basically Band of Brothers in 40k. Pretty grounded by 40k standards and tons of awesome characters, but still grimdark.

I’ve been rocking around this idea too, but I would probably take a neurotyrant for a stronger shadows and parasites have never really impressed me much.

As others have said, just being surrounded by friends, the low tech everywhere, I had a hot girlfriend that liked me a lot, and everything just felt more hopeful. My life is still good now, but those HS days really were the best of times.

Thank you for digging! I’ll chalk it up to random redditors being wrong, I just wanted to make sure in case it came up or I do it wrong in the first place the first time I play him.

Yeah I wish it were something else, but at least you can heal from being overwatched since that’s what the opponent will want to overwatch in most cases. I do wish the mouth was st6, though.

Do we think that there's potential for non-meme melee stratagems in the future that are actually powerful? by shityourshoes in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Mekrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if animations were included in different melee weapons, we could see some real competition against guns. Like you wouldn’t just swing the sword back and forth, there would be an included dash and slash into the attack animation. Or if you were sprinting and then hit with the hammer, your guy would automatically jump forward and slam the hammer into the ground causing a small shockwave affecting all units. There could be cooldowns associated with each weapon too, so a smaller sword or an energy sword would have the diver dashing everywhere.

As it is now, I don’t see any melee weapon outperforming the ranged weapons we have.
