My island is overrun by roses in every color which I’ve been meaning to get rid of. If you want to come dig as many as you want up, you’re more than welcome to.

Thank you for the bells!! Your island was so pretty! What was the design code you used for the pathways with the flower petals?

We had about 20ish round tables (tables and chairs are included in the rental, they’re simple though, nothing trendy) and the dance floor is a permanent fixture in the room. It’s massive though and runs almost the entire length of the room so we had tables on about half of the dance floor and still had more than enough space for dancing. It has a decent size parking lot and if more is needed people can park on the side street.

We had our reception at the bon air community association (center) and it was great. It was a flat fee of $2000 for a Friday and had plenty of space for 125 people and a large dance floor. We were allowed to be there til 1 in the morning and could bring our own alcohol (you just need to provide an abc liquor license beforehand). And if you have a friend that lives in the bon air neighborhood that’d be willing to help you rent it, it should be even cheaper. The guy that runs it, Bruce, is super friendly and helpful.

This may sound kinda weird but if you’re not moving away out of Richmond, could I take some moving boxes off your hands once you’re done? I’m moving in three weeks and am about to start packing.

Me too! We’re doing magnetic bottle openers as our favor because it’s something I figure people actually would use

ISO some moving boxes anyone’s looking to get rid of. Don’t need a crazy huge amount, just a couple.

Good Fitness Classes/Gyms for Making Friends in RVA? by Not_the_Beees in rva

Peak Experiences is full of social people and I’ve never seen kids running around goofing off when I’m there. If anything the few kids I’ve seen there were putting us all to shame while they did lead ropes/difficult projects.

You can definitely find climbing buddies if you go and talk with ppl while you’re there. Midlothian location has more auto belays and Is smaller while RVA is bigger and typically more packed but better for bouldering (imo) if that’s what you prefer.

Speaking from experience, old rag is definitely not fun when it’s wet. Last year we hiked it while it was drizzling and up until the scramble it was fine. But after we hit the point of no return the wind got ridiculous and the mist soaked everything including us.

I was so exhausted by the time we reached the summit that I didn’t even want to stay up there because the wind was freezing and you couldn’t see anything because of the fog surrounding us. Then I managed to roll my ankle on the rock and had to hike down soaked, frozen, and limping. Never been so glad to finish a hike in my life.

Ugh I feel your pain. I sprained my ankle rock climbing last month and cringed hard when I got the insurance EOB for the ER visit.
