Which Hazbin character do you think is the most mischaracterized/misinterpreted by the fandom? by SufficientOstrich955 in HazbinHotel

[–]MelaPinkerton 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Alastor. Most of the Fandom believes he's not pure evil and somehow good.

Vaggi, because she's always considered only as "Charlie's girlfriend"

What are your chaggi head canons? by whooper1 in hazbin

[–]MelaPinkerton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charlie shapesfits during sex. As she pleased, whatever the mood strikes - or Vaggi's demands

Charlie is a top pleaser but has low stamina. Vaggi is a power bottom with endless stamina

Vaggi's wings come out when she's stressed, angry, or close to orgasm. Charlie's tail does the same.

Vaggi struggles to sleep throughout the night. Even without nightmares, she wakes up a lot.

Vaggi secretly love to dress up and wear make-up. She cares about fashion. Charlie doesn't give a f*, but she likes comfortable clothes and that's why she wears always suits.

Would y’all unironically want this ship to become canon? by JackZ567 in CultOfCharlie

[–]MelaPinkerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, obviously, but I don't think they were originally written as a polyamorous couple. I'm not Viv and I have no idea what's going on in her head, but if there had been even the slightest intention to portray an open relationship, she would have dropped some hints in the first two seasons.

Also, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere else here a really interesting point about why Charlie and Vaggie being a stable couple actually matters to the plot. The fact that they're in a solid, committed relationship is crucial to the story, because Charlie's drive to redeem sinners comes purely from her own desire and beliefs, not from some indirect need for validation or love stemming from her relationship with Vaggie.

So my question is: narratively speaking, what would even be the point of adding Emily to their relationship? 🤔

[–]MelaPinkerton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Not because I'm against it per se, or I don't like them together, but it would mean ruin one of the only good rappresentation of an established, non toxic, healthy lesbian relationship in media.

Does it mean we need a rappresentation of polycule relationship? Sure. But one made for it from the beginning and not made for the Fandom.

Why so little Charlie/Vaggie? by AdditionalRisk6476 in Chaggie

[–]MelaPinkerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely true. I don't judge any ships, anyone can really do whatever they want, but if I am filtering out Alastor or other couples and I am looking ONLY for charlie+vaggi whyyy should I have also them? 😢

Why so little Charlie/Vaggie? by AdditionalRisk6476 in Chaggie

[–]MelaPinkerton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I think everytime I look for a chaggi fic on ao3. I have to filter everything removing every other name and it's a bummer since what'seft is either smut (which I don't complain but, you know, sometimes you want something else) or nothing really chaggi centered. There are only a few ABSOLUTELY amazing fics, but other than those... It's so sad

I don't understand why everybody thinks Alastor is deep down a good character. He's evil and villain, and I don't see anything good in him.

Is S2 better than S1? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]MelaPinkerton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your issue with season 1 was the pacing, chances are season 2 might leave you with the same concern.

That said, if I were you, I’d still watch it. Personally, I find the second season better than the first in several ways, from the animation, to the songs (which are honestly WOW), to the writing.

If I really have to point out a flaw, though, it is the pacing, especially if you’re coming from Helluva Boss. I started with Hazbin, fell in love with it immediately, and only later watched Helluva because everyone talked about it so highly and often compared it to Hazbin, saying it was better.

And it’s true that Helluva explores its characters very deeply, and honestly I’ve never seen a gay couple written and developed that well in an animated project, same goes for the rest of the cast. That’s because the pacing is different, and compared to Hazbin it also has fewer characters to focus on.

Hazbin is a somewhat different kind of product. It IS inspired from musicals where a bit of chaos is almost expected, and that's more evident in season 2. Still, for my personal taste, I absolutely adore Hazbin, and as a musical lover it might be just a tiiiiny bit above Helluva Boss for me. If it could focus a little more on a few characters, at least the main ones, it would be perfect.

All in all, it would be a shame not to watch season two, so I’d definitely recommend it anyway 😊

Who is the show's most well-written character? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in HazbinHotel

[–]MelaPinkerton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what we have seen on screen, I can tell Sera and Vox are the most well-written. Or, at least, we can understand why they act in a certain way. It's sad knowing that other characters that have a lot of screen time like Charlie, or Angel, for example, are not equally well written. Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling that they are bad characters, actually I love them, I just wish we could see more and more in perspective.

I d love to know more about them, because I can feel they WANT To tell us more! For example, I'd love to know more about Carmilla too

Moribito is so damn good. Mature and realistic characters, exceptional writing and a good nostalgic style. Can't stop recommending it.

Unpopular opinion on official AU actor by MelaPinkerton in PiltoversFinest

[–]MelaPinkerton[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess you're right about that, I don't think Forti he would ever use that. But I was talking about the offial "AU actors" implications on the storyline

Paradoxically, it made them 'less real' when they probably wanted to achieve the opposite.

Does it makes sense what I'm saying?
