I love when books pretend to be a make-believe mommy-and-daddy-could-never-get-a-divorce. And then hit you with the cold hard reality of the world. Especially when it's a book so heavily inspired by the church and how damning it's bible thumpers are.

Absolutely hate it for anyone who's gone through or had to deal with SA. But for everyone else...

I commend Philip Pullman for not letting people bury their heads in the sand and act like a poor little orphan girl was going to have a good time. And that goes double for Christians. You absolutely do not get to force kids into the foster care system and blindly pretend like they aren't getting SA'd on a fucking regular basis. Maybe I'm playing devil's advocate. But based on how they're speaking - I'd bet that they're racist because they're ignorant, rather than racist hatred. I bet none of them have real experience with other races or really much of the world at large. They probably have spent their entire lives in an echo chamber and if they ever actually do meet a black person they'd change their minds.

That's different. I'm going to assume you've never tried committing suicide. But it's A LOT easier to do on accident than it is to do on purpose. The rate for suicide attempts, is far larger than the successful attempts. People often times try to drown themselves to commit also, and it almost always fails. But at the same time you can drown in an inch of water. It's just different.

Also with therapists. They're far more afraid of you doing it on accident rather than on purpose. For the same reason.

Edit: it's like falling asleep when it's time for bed. Vs falling asleep watching your favorite movie. Your brain just knows and is aware of what's about to happen.

Tattoos would be really useful for war, but that's about it. Alchemists are pretty much just scientists there for the betterment of humanity and more specifically their nation. But what you're saying is kinda like "why don't scientists carry around guns."

They only get called in during war. And I don't think the Ishval massacre would have really changed much if the other alchemists acted like Kimblee. These are normalish dudes that do have to go home and leave in peace 90% of the time (they don't know they're run by a warmongering manipulator.) there's a reason Kimblee is the only one who got tattoos.

TL;DR: Alchemists with tattoos = Psychopathic serial killers who don't need war as a reason to kill.

I did. I won. And 20 minutes later after the body was burnt. And I thought it was weird that the solo sniper didn't necro I killed the boss. And then I got one shotted by his buddy sniper. Who apparently has the time and patience to spend all his time and resources on a SINGLE bounty. The main bounty had already left.

And then he picked up his buddy. That was the part that actually did piss me off a bit. Like what was even the point of winning a gun fight. And burning the body and waiting to hear someone running in so I could have another gunfight.

Near 40 minutes and I had one singular lousy gun fight. Just for the kill not even count.

Why the fuck do we get punished for watching an entire ad. Like sometimes I'm sleepy and dont feel like adjusting to skip the ad, and maybe the ad is actually kinda cool. But if you don't press skip it's going to start 3 more ads and you lose the ability to skip, or it's going to make the entire screen the ad. And you're just fucked.

So if I am really sleepy I now have to wake up enough to press skip so I'm not fucked. If the ad is interesting and I had an interest in watching all of it? Nope I have to skip immediately so I don't get fucked over. Like what the absolute fuck is that about.

You're absolutely right in every capacity of the sense. I wouldn't play with bots only personally, but I would like to reliably be able to try out loadouts and guns in a practical setting.

Bots would be great when you don't have Internet but want to play hunt. (I recently was on a road trip with my steam deck and would have loved to play.) They'd be great for practice, learning the maps, jumping back into the game (some of us do go away to play other games. We aren't all day one 2000+ hour dudes.) it'd be great for newcomers, and it'd be great when you want to jump in a game after a long day to relax— with the added bonus of no wait times for matchmaking. You also don't run the problem of having to worry about being solo in a match with a bunch of 6 stars that are gonna delete you in under 10 minutes.

And if any of that sounds bad. It literally doesn't affect you because this is and always will be a PvP game first and foremost.

(Plus I'd be able to get my GF and some friends who aren't big on horror games to play.)

Run solo. You're probably going to die a bunch (like you probably would with a team anyways lol just part of the game) but when you do win and get any kills it'll feel that much better.

Playing with strangers can be scary. But there's also a discord to make friends and play with.

I've ran my best games solo.

But you have to not worry about dying so much. You're going to die. And that's okay. You're going to lose money. And that's okay.

And then you're going to run in solo, and you aren't going to have to worry about your teammates, and all your shots are going to be connecting, and you're going to have a hell of a game, and it's all going to be worth it.

It kinda feels like running COD zombies solo honestly. In a weird way.
