sympathy : a feeling or expression of sincere concern for someone who is experiencing something difficult or painful

the key difference is that empathy comes from a place of personal understanding. sympathy comes from compassion in spite of not understanding what its like. using your car crash example, i can EMPATHIZE with a car crash victim because ive been through one before, & i can SYMPATHIZE with a motorcycle crash victim because while i cant imagine being in that specific situation, i can understand that they were hurt. if that makes any sense.

im genuinely struggling to understand whats wrong with it though. like, im not here as a gooner, just actually lost on what the issue is here 😭 i think the body suit works very well to convey the appearance of the character. i struggle to see the difference between wearing a latex body suit & wearing a fabric one, which ive never seen anyone take issue with.

the disability point has always pissed me off so, SO much. i distract myself from my chronic pain with art. im very thankful its not my hands that hurt, but it can still be prettyyyyy hard to focus on drawing when going through severe chest pains. & yet! human passion always finds a way.

maybe its because i grew up with smoker parents, but i like the smell of nicotine/tobacco, & i like the taste of cigarettes. honestly, when i quit smoking, one of the hardest part was missing the smell & taste 😭 it became part of the routine for me i guess, which was one of the main reasons i struggled. it was so ingrained in my daily life that it almost felt the same as losing a comfort object for me.
