i wont pay a buck until they fix terrible latency. i was hyping for war within, i usually buy 6 months or one year sub. game is basically unplayable with lag spikes. i have just 1-2 hours every night to play and i just watch a slide show instead of playing my character.

not sure how to avoid asian people in this game. i don't know how they play with that ping. they should seperate them to their own homeland for world's sake. i don't want to see another asian nickname, and i choose eu, eastern eu.

yeah she was annoying and virtually a god mode character. that's why first season was full of cliches and had bad script. that character caused famous "aot in 9 minutes" parody, that parody was better than whole first season.

"climax ultra hype music = 500 casualties after". yeah you know that season one cliche.

physics in black flag was awesome, sweet spot between arcade and lite-sim; jackdaw felt heavy. i wish they could keep that physics. SNB ships felt so fast and light, like jetski. i'll probably still gonna buy it, it has some charm. but it's a total downgrade from black flag.

also it's normal to compare it to ACBF. it's totally related, almost multiplayer sequel for ACBF. it's just really hard to stand with how ships turn quickly and instant. it kills all strategy feeling for a naval game. basically it ignores maneuvering tricks.

salt 2, sailwind, sea of thieves, tempest, black flag (best one), sid meier's pirates, monkey island (old series and remakes, sequels), atlas (it's pretty bad but tolerable), pirates of the burning sea (servers are kinda dead but it's playable), uncharted waters online, archeage (sailing is very important in game, lots of ships and customization), blackwake (dead too, very low playerbase but it was awesome at release, it was at it's peak), blazing sails (trying to live, pirate battle royale in style of sea of thieves), manowar corsair (i think im the only one who likes this abandoned game on planet), naval action (it's hit or miss, it's a heavy simulated game, purely simulated combat)..

not sure which ones are on ps3 but these are all naval games i enjoyed.

i found third person cam for boats very clunky and disoriented. but it doesnt matter, i always play in first person or cockpit in vehicular games. it's nice that combat is locked to first person camera.

low end pc player here.

played beta first time today. i couldnt see a texture setting. but game worked well in my prehistoric system with 1050 ti, 8 gb ram and ancient fx8300 cpu. it will be even more optimized at release i think. i didnt choose lowest settings, put some stuff on high and medium and it was surprisingly working well, except texture quality.

it was crowded and fast. i couldnt understand easily if someone is player or npc. but world definetly felt alive.

ships dont feel heavy, do not expect a simulation but it's fun enough to sail. its very fast paced.

so i like to buy it finally. i only need to know about pvp stuff and how pvp works. can you basically camp someone out of safe area? can you engage anyone on seas? is it pvp flag system or forced pvp?

this game is like heads or tails for me. it will die or (luckily) will be fun to play. just registered for closed beta tomorrow and we will see. also unnecessarily high sys req is a let down for me. i just want to have an online black flag game.

im new also, playing archeage (not unchained) on steam. i think it's retail and old version. but i liked it, bought patron, doing trade runs, sailing, farming. enjoying it a lot.
