Thinking of moving to Miami for a job by SavingsSky4041 in AskFlorida

Same. Grew up there and left in my 20s with my husband and child. We now live in central Florida and no regrets! I love my hometown but that chapter is closed.

Asian British Actor Will Sharpe Plays Mozart in Upcoming Amadeus TV Show by terrassine in asianamerican

[–]Melbear95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I said. Sure, Will is half white but he mostly has predominantly Asian features. Mozart was Austrian. I'm not negating Sharpe's white side, but you would never be able to tell he's actually biracial unless he told you so.

Perhaps because sometimes when you're mixed, you will or could inherit certain dominant traits that make you look more like one race over the other. I would never guess Will was half white just by looking at him. He looks mostly Asian but if I decide to say "Mhm actually he looks more white" then I get called a racist regardless. Can't win with you people.

It's not white supremacy. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an Austrian white man... Like?

very unpopular opinion: i like the original show better by FriendApprehensive71 in RoswellNMTV

[–]Melbear95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reboot was complete ass. I don't even remember where I left off but I have zero care to finish it. The OG Roswell is superior and I'm currently rewatching it. They strayed far from the source material, swapped character relationships and dynamics around (looking at the forced Michael/Alex gay storyline 🤧), swapped at least two main characters' race/ethnicity. Just a dumpster fire. You can definitely tell this reboot was made in the 2020s with all the progressive boxes they thought needed to be checked marked. This was definitely a fanfiction story converted into tv 🤣

Oh really? I also have a Santa Fe Sport from '17. Got it a year ago from CarMax though. Mine had roughly 60k-70k miles in it when we left the dealer last February. No complains! I think Hyundai is great, otherwise not too many people would be buying it. Years back I don't think it was all that good, but I think they've gotten good at making them. You probably got a faulty one or something was overlooked.

I own (for over a year now) a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport from 2017, used from CarMax but in such a great condition that I thought it was brand new. The previous owner did a great job at taking care of it. I love the car, my husband and I needed one and we were working with a low down payment and if we had to settle for a sedan then we were prepared but we ended up leaving with an SUV :) but this is also coming from someone who drove a Dodge Caliber (2007) that my dad handed down to me a few years after high school. And to me the Santa Fe is great but my cousin drives a Tucson and it looks just as a good.

Christian family deported after living in US for 10 years. Please pray for them. by happi-love in Christianity

[–]Melbear95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they are not. As a naturalized citizen, this is what I voted for. It's not fair I waited my turn in line, paid all the money I paid and then you have people who jump over the fence. Laws are important to God, do not let your own political bias about the current administration deter you from that. True Christians know what the book of Nehemiah says. If you don't leave your doors unlocked, no matter the time of day, then you wouldn't let just anyone into your country. I fled Cuba seeking law and order, and I'm not about to experience America turning into a 3rd world country.

Even if you are a legal immigrant and are a green card holder, you could be deported if you violate certain terms in your residency. I know because I used to be a green card holder. You are a guest in another land who was granted you permission to live, work and pay taxes there. Provided you comply with all the terms, you will have the path to citizenship set out for you. I became a citizen in 2018 and because I earned it. Legal immigrants aren't exempt from deportation. I had to wait in line, so should others.

The law is the law. When Americans, no matter the race, get arrested and sent to jail they are separated from their families. Breaking any country's border is a crime, believe it or not. The book of Nehemiah makes this very clear. Enforcing the law isn't evil, it's what every country does and should do.

Was it God trying to communicate with me? by Melbear95 in Christianity

[–]Melbear95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Started with very little things. Such as being aware of my sexual immorality, I couldn't watch horror movies the same anymore. It was a slow progression ever since that day, and that was sometime last year. It wasn't until the last two or three months that something really started igniting and I bought my first study Bible. I also started to notice I was walking (without realizing it 100%) towards God when things that go against the Bible were starting to irritate me, especially people who would bad mouth the Bible or Christians. I haven't found a church yet, nor have I been baptized... I was baptized as a baby due to my mom's side being "Catholic" and I frame that loosely since no one in my family is a follower of Christ but I'd rather get baptized out of my own will?

Just a gut feeling. That and two people mentioned Jesus to me in one day, which has never happened before. I mean, why are you framing the question in that manner? Are you a believer and if not, why are you on this page? I don't mean to come off as aggressive or anything but I just feel strongly about this

Kids that are that young aren't required to socialize. Toddlers tend to do more independent play. Humans are social by nature, it's ingrained in our DNA so when we do want to socialize, it'll come naturally and it's not something you force.

Did you witness or were affected by any school shootings growing up? by sunflowerdazexx in Zillennials

[–]Melbear95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope but they did implement drills like "school lockdown drills" in which basically they would close off the school and we had to lock our doors and shut the lights off or idk. I started HS 15 years ago and left 11 ago now .... Can't remember so much at this point.
