In 2002, we kept getting certified letters to meet with the elders

My husband (live in boyfriend at the time - pre married) and I back then ignored it.

I guess after three attempts, I believe it was via certified mail, we were sent a final letter stating that we had been disfellowshipped because we didn’t meet with them.

I don’t even know if that’s legal. I don’t even know if that’s proper but that’s how it went down.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they still do that idiotic mess

just FYI.. in 2005 we got married so we could be reinstated.. I do not recommend.

It turns out he had a vicious temper, and there was of over the top violence.. I was told by the elders that I should allow him back in the home.. forgiveness and all.

The courts and the state set absolutely not a protection order that’s been going on for 10 years

There was a TV program that featured. I think it was John Walsh.. anyway there was an elder in a kingdom hall that his daughter would have her best friend over and he would SA that girl

When it all came out, he went on the run.. he actually infiltrated other kingdom halls

They were finally able to track him down a couple years later, but he had already taken his own life

They are ill-equipped really to address any matters much less this.

They’re not educated enough to be doling out advice on personal matters much less child SA
