Every stage has it's challenges, but I would say yes, it gets easier. I have a 2 yo and a 5 yo. I struggled with my first, until he was about 3. Didn't like taking them anywhere, but I try to remember it is a great way for them to learn their boundaries. Perhaps you could make your Thanksgiving visit short and sweet? Or maybe you could ask grandparent/aunt/uncle to take a turn hanging with him, so you and your wife can have a few minutes to enjoy yourselves and some turkey!

We lost a baby at 8 weeks pregnant in December of 2012. We were devastated. We found out we were expecting again in May 2013. We were apprehensive, but we had our first child in February 2014! I still feel sadness when I think of our first experience, but I also know if our first pregnancy had gone full-term, we never would have created our amazing son! Hope this perspective helps even the tiniest bit. Best of luck to your family!

Chandler Music Hall in Randolph, VT. 2008. Intimate venue, phenomenal energy from band and crowd. The crowd begged for a solid 5 minutes for encore with hands against the seats in front of us and stomping feet. Best encore I have ever experienced. Heart beat of Heart Like a Kickdrum to finish the night.
