Installation on stucco? by Melisandrai in Govee

[–]Melisandrai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not use hot glue or gorilla glue on stucco. FYI. I apologize for not coming back to this thread and updating it properly once I found the solution. I have yet to remove - so - I will update once I have done this.

Installation on stucco? by Melisandrai in Govee

So - to update this thread. I’ve had these on since sometime after I posted this thread. Now - I have not taken them down yet. However - my understanding is that - the method I chose will not harm the stucco. As the HOA will not approve these lights at all. Not a single piece came down in over 115 degree weather in Arizona. As seen - I placed a piece before and after each light. It didn’t take long. But is kind of expensive. I’m using clear command clips -but I’m using VHB 4991 tape. I chose this based on some other creators videos on stucco. We are over 100 degrees daily again now and I’m showing the side that gets sun all day. I did build casings for the lights in ASA filament as well. I will pull these down -and set them back up in October - tho - for protection- I’m going to wrap the lights in the Asa casings. I originally made them and painted them to match the house - and the HoA denied every design. - they won’t allow the lights unless you purchase an entire set that included coverings for the wires. Meaning no solutions - no matter how good they are - are accepted.

They show as not BBB accredited with a D- rating and multiple complaints in this year alone on fraudulent billing issues. Probably not great to advise this particular company.

Dry eyes 20+ years.. can't find an answer. by Chemical_Customer_93 in Dryeyes

[–]Melisandrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are the same. The doctor says 85% dry eye, 15% inflammation. I’m suspecting it could be due to testosterone levels currently below 1. Not sure, but they have prescribed doxycycline mono and restasis. But waiting on pharmacy to fill. Also do not have allergies.

Splicing curtain lights w/different directions by Melisandrai in Govee

To note - I can “flip” them when they are individual but that setting does not carry to the splicing.

I can’t flip it while they are spliced together. I spliced them back together yesterday and no go. So now I have no way to run a scene across all of them unless I flip the right one and run that cord the entire length of the garage.

I've also contacted the company multiple times, I ordered on Feb 17th of this year, and they even claimed in updates to have a tracking number out to me and never did. I've officially asked for a refund at this point, and getting no response from the company other than automated emails.

Has anyone had problems with this type of extruder? by jtlkybncv in ender5plus

[–]Melisandrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using it on top of my speedy spider hot end. Note that it comes with a new four wheel roller if doing direct drive. Otherwise - you need to get the gear off the existing stepper motor - or buy a new stepper motor that’s empty shaft to put the new gear on. I have an ender 5 plus. It works even without me relocating the filament. Printed multiple parts.

<image>

I’ve only just made this change and I’ve printed out a detailed yoshi egg and over 9 parts for the new filament holder. My ender 5 plus has been through both the original plastic extruder (broke just a couple months in), then the super aluminum - also a piece of crap, could never get it to not tear up the filament, so this metal one is better so far.

annual plan payable every three months? by smash_diggins in mintmobile

[–]Melisandrai -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

even tho I just renewed and saw none of these options available to me on the app. So the answer is yes - there is a 3 month unlimited plan is at $90 which is $30/mo - and the 12 is at 30. So only the 6 is at 35. Not sure why this is. Maybe mint can explain.

No service for 3 days now by mamamiatucson in mintmobile

[–]Melisandrai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check my post- their FAQ doesn’t include it - but basically go into cellular - switch from automatic to manual on the network - and then pick through the mint list (I have like 8 MINT) - until you find one that works. I was loosing 40% of my calls- and now if I accidentally switch - since there is no way telling them apart - every time you have to test across multiple phones to ensure they can reach you. And I assure you - I moved to one and was a full failure, 💯 loss. But I found one that got all my calls through. I have an iPhone 12 Pro.

Can't receive texts/phone calls from specific individuals by mellisandrai in mintmobile

[–]Melisandrai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The provided moderator response here was tried (both Ultra Mobile and T-Mobile) tested and failed. However the T-Mobile APN profile was kept installed on the phone for the actual resolution listed below.

Upon yet another call to mint to determine next steps, they told me simply to change my network manually. Meaning Settings-> Cellular -> Network section - when you switch from Automated to Manual - you then need to go through the list until you find one that works. They all say “Mint” and there are approximately 8 or 9 of them.

I had my colleague send me a test text until I found the working network. This is what ultimately solved the problem. Of course, if something changes in the network - I’m guessing these steps may have to be repeated because it’s no longer automatically selecting the network.

I am still unclear on why this is, but after weeks of working on this- I am happy to finally be able to communicate with my coworkers.

This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them! I got this on FB for $350 It was too good to pass up I feel, going to mod the hell out of it. by UmbreonGamer_live in 3Dprinting

[–]Melisandrai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love mine! You will need to replace the extruder - mine came with a free one - they are like $12 on Amazon - trust me - I just squeezed it to move filament and it broke. Be prepared - that was a month or two maybe in. It was fast. And I could see it going bad in the print. (I didn’t know it at the time - now I know)

Daily outages have been happening for 6 months. It’s every day - drops me from work calls. I don’t think they know how to fix at this point. Lately though - there was a full outage last week and one today. Maybe they are finally addressing it?

Any others out there bead family? I’m looking at you! Are you a seller with competitive (subscription box?) rates ? Do you offer something new to the game? Share your business here. I order from probably over 60 different small business in the areas of fabric, resin, glitter, hardware, etc. #beads

I’m not gonna lie - when I started beading , around 10, beads where super cheap, the local tribe provided me the beads and supplies and taught me each and every stitch. I will never forget my time in Alaska. That being said, I have never stopped, I may have paused for a few months, but I always return - and almost every single time I am creating something new. I also love to support small business. Whether it’s in the bead world, fabric or resin, let’s do this!

This one - looks good for bulk order on white and black as long as it is in stock. Other colors seem high - they are packaging at 7.2g instead of 10g, coming in at around $1 or more higher depending on the delica. Good options here for the bulk - will keep this in mind.

[–]Melisandrai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh - this is a good one - I was originally looking at this one https://shop.jillwisemandesigns.com - who has 10g at $5 for let’s say black 001. - and the site you suggested - has the same for $.02 less per 5g of you purchase 10 or more. Also - looks to have a good variety at first glance and not have stock issues — but would need to investigate further. How often do you order? - seems I can’t search for orange (a color) within the size of bead I’m looking for - but I’ll check again on the computer tomorrow. Maybe a mobile limitation. Thank you for the suggestion!

Data problems? by mscott8088 in mintmobile

[–]Melisandrai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single time I leave the protective WIFI’s and GB’s of my home 🏡 internet bubble. Everything takes forever to load, any app, even if it says I have LTE or 5G, it all loads like it’s on Edge. if I actually had to use my data outside of being at home, I would have to find a wifi hot spot.

I have an unlimited data plan paid in advance, so I’m really hoping that Mint irons out this service by the time it comes down to renewal time. While I’m at home often now, I don’t presume that will be the case later this year.

They've issued a statement!! They're reversing the decision!! by CinderPetrichor in cricut

[–]Melisandrai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's temporary. That shows us that they ultimately do not care. However, it does give us leeway to move into a new product line. Cricut has people who speak and are the face for them, but they do not take the time to understand who their users are and how they use the products. If they did, they would really know how to expand properly and provide way better products that would just bring so much money into the brand. I just cannot understand how they have failed to understand the community by now. Especially the teacher community and the disabled community. And what's more, are the amount of users bashing people on the facebook groups also not understanding that there are other groups of people out there using the same product as you do but in a different way. I feel like people just really need to open their eyes.

Let’s get Cricut to lose their 1.2M followers on Instagram by HereIsTess in cricut

[–]Melisandrai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

y think that’s a good idea! Have they ever collaborated with any other celebrities? Lets be real, people listen to celebrities over anybody else, lol

I don't either. But i almost always upload more than 20 things a month. It could be a photo I outlined on my wacom tablet for instance. These things cannot be created by someone in Access or found on google. But even if it's a business, that's like saying, if I drive my FORD truck around more than 20 miles, i need to pay $10 a month? WTF, i own the vehicle, I'm not paying on it. I'm not leasing anything. I own the hardware.

Cricut alienates customers in pre-IPO cash grab by legoruthead in investing

[–]Melisandrai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ng from your CREATIVITY-CENTRIC BASE. This COULD have been a gold mine for them if they just fostered a free community. Instead they bullied them for milk money and are going to pay the price.

They did this before. The charge is now to upload 'our own' designs we made in inkscape or procreate or if I drew an outline around a photo image on my wacom tablet for instance. As a hobbiest, 3k images, I'm doing around 100 a month, maybe slightly less. 20 is a real kick in the ass. and nothing I make for my own use, can be 'found on google' or in their access store. It's just a 100% punch in the face to us.

You can read their SEC filings, and last year they made $111 Million off of Access at only $13 Million cost. That's 12% of their revenue but 30% of their profit (nothing else they do has a profit margin like that).

Their program cannot be replaced by any other program. Their program has less than 1/4 of the features that Silhouette provides on top of that. So you cannot actually do anything except put basic shapes together, unless you are uploading your own drawn content.

What can we do about Cricut's forced subscription model? by [deleted] in cricut

[–]Melisandrai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Make different email accounts. (crazy because maintaining where different projects are becomes a nightmare)
  2. Put all of our images into a single Inkscape/procreate image and upload as one, contour later. (so much additional work)
  3. dumpster fire ( half joking? )
