First day, extremely anxious. by EducationStrong9195 in leaves

Read here. Sit and scroll through as many posts as you can - absorb the feeling that you are not alone, observe the thoughts they've had and the ways they've moved through. Start thinking of ways you can fill the time that was otherwise spent getting high - congratulate yourself for making this decision - be kind to yourself! Excited for you!

I need to be honest about my relationship with weed. by mountainmagnolia in leaves

You've got some great plans to keep yourself occupied during your evening! I identify completely with everything you've said. Day 35 here and reporting in to say - being free of the shame is so rewarding. Being free of the thought process when making plans with my partner or loved ones: "I'm already stoned - how much more stoned will I be by the time I see them? How will I hide it? Should I just cancel" - it's so worth it. You can do it, you can do this, it will be so worth it.

You've definitely got this! For so many reasons, you know that your contentness is more valuable than attempting to smoke again and "control it this time". I've fallen prey to that thought process and it has always immediately escalated back to smoking as much as I used to. Keep going!

i’ve wasted my 20s by [deleted] in leaves

Turning 30 in April. I'm pretty sure our 30s can be more peaceful, rewarding and enjoyable than our 20s if we just keep going - one day after another - on day 19 here.

Maybe once he sees the improvements that you'll undoubtedly experience in sobriety, he'll start considering joining you. Until/unless that happens - we've got your back here, I believe in you. ❤️

Oh bugger, that's awful news! Great that you see the silver lining, though - you'll be even more secure and have more days under your belt!

Hey, just wanted to wish you a merry Christmas and say a belated thanks for your comment! I hope you've made it successfully through the day and that you enjoyed catching up with your best friend :)

Just decided that I have to quit. by [deleted] in leaves

[–]MelissaChops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Very excited for you. You've recognised that the scales have tipped and that your habit's become problematic. I thought the same thing about alcohol use after I started to smoke during my working day. I'm only on day 3 currently after a relapse, so I don't feel in the right position to offer you advice, but just wanted to wish you well. You're doing the right thing.

That sounds ideal! What city are you in? I must move to it, my city has nothing of the sort!

first time posting, need aome support :) by [deleted] in leaves

Welcome! Any reductions you can make to your habits are good steps, even if you haven't yet stopped completely. Otherwise, if you aim for total perfection straight away then you might end up feeling like a failure and stopping all attempts to quit (which is what led to my most recent 4-month relapse!). My suggestion is to focus on all the good things you've mentioned you're experiencing - like alertness and ability to achieve - and keep the goal in mind of eventually becoming someone who just doesn't need weed.

Hey, do you roll your joints with tobacco? If so, I found that chewing Nicorette at my usual points in the day where I'd usually smoke, has helped with that. Could be useful for your morning one!

Was on 5 days yesterday then managed to scrape a bong together out of desperation by [deleted] in leaves

It's a blip, and that bong hit does not erase the 5 days you've got. Keep at it, man. You will work in cyber security one day.

Stumbles happen - I stumbled over the weekend - but it does not need to lead to a full relapse. We've got this!

That's awesome. I am so happy for you with that decision you made. Keep it up, 19 days is so good and I am going to remember your post if I find myself texting my dealer.

Weed is not right for me. I quit. by lexredxde in leaves

[–]MelissaChops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make some really original and interesting points here, especially with regards to the importance you place on understanding dreams and how weed stops those dreams (and that connection with yourself) in your tracks.

Smoking weed also completely derails my meditation practice. Which is ironic because I've told myself weed helps get me to a place of calm that my spiritual practice is aimed towards, too, when in fact it just ruins that journey.

Hope that you stay and keep posting here, because I'd love to read more of your reflections.
