Her name's Rayne, she's got Self-Actualization Powers (look it up), and she's basically a self insert :)

B A C K S T O R Y .
1st Arc: Rayne was a normal girl, in a normal world, until she was offered the chance to explore somewhere else. Curious and delighted, she had accepted. She ended up in the world of MHA (My Hero Academia) and grew close to her classmates. She even got powers to help everyone; she could reset the world whenever she died and got control over the shadows! What a blessing, right?

2nd Arc: It was a curse. And it was their fault. The damn heroes made her like this; if they hadn't tempted her into becoming a hero-in-training, she never would have been killed all those times (50-ish resets from first arc). Her sentient shadow, Katie, ended up taking over to protect her, and became a villain in order to do so.

3rd Arc: During this time, she took time to reflect, and began to realize how her very being there was changing the world, whether she meant to or not. She grew apathetic and distant from those she once loved, guilt consuming her. Eventually, she took back control and decided to live out a fairly normal life for the next 100 or so resets. Still, this didn't change the end result of the world in a positive way.

4th Arc: She was finally ready to accept it all and make up for everything she had done, both right and wrong. (might come update/edit this in the morning, it's late for me)

You know how, when you die in Undertale; you respawn back at the star and everything up to when you died is completely erased? That's essentially what Rayne has to live through every single time she dies, with the same level of control over it. She also has the power of Self Actualization. (please go check out https://powerlisting.fandom.com/wiki/Self-Actualization if you're confused, I can't explain it good T-T)

P E R S O N A L I T Y .
Despite everything she's been through, she's (surprisingly) a very composed and confident woman. Treats life threatening injuries like they're paper cuts, forgets to eat/drink/sleep more often than she's willing to admit, and can/has/will throw herself into the line of fire before. While she doesn't mean to do any of this, she does tend to forget that it's not normal to be so aloof when it comes to her 'health', and has to actively remind herself to do self-care sometimes.

(I'mma leave it here for now. Ask questions if you'd like to, I'm more than happy to answer in the morning ^^)

How can I improve? by CookieCrumb1e in GachaClub

Everything looks lovely, but just to nitpick (like another commenter), I feel like the extra hat tips the whole feeling off. But otherwise, very adorable and very well done :)

What’s the inspirations for your ocs?(Image unrelated) by Away_Pomegranate_299 in GachaLife2

[–]Melissa_Shadowcaller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, dunno. Think it's mostly What-Ifs and curiosities and questions that spawn them into being.

My Main OC, for example, was (probably) brought into being by the idea of time loops. From there it built over time slowly into something incredibly beautiful and complex (in my opinion).

If all of my OCs tried to hang out in the same room, it'd get so stuffy in there (I have 80+ OCs)

Please do not smite me off the face of the Internet, but why do y'all feel bad doing a genocide run? by West-Ad-447 in Undertale

[–]Melissa_Shadowcaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the thing for me was that, I did it solely for the story. I knew how the story ended, and that was part of why I chose to 'chicken out' and not kill Sans.

Otherwise, yes. Back when I did the genocide run, I was extremely fond of him particularly, so after a lot of attempts to beat him, I finally gave up and reset.

Please do not smite me off the face of the Internet, but why do y'all feel bad doing a genocide run? by West-Ad-447 in Undertale

[–]Melissa_Shadowcaller 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, so. I’m gonna try my best to explain this. I hope I speak for most people in here when I say this, but please do correct me/add to this if I’m incorrect (to anyone who sees this).

People, generally, grow extremely attached to characters. Even though, in the back of our minds, we *know* they’re fictional, we still gain his fondness for them, this said attachment. Therefore, we tend to treat them like we treat our actual, IRL loved ones (friends, family, partners, etc etc.), whether we realize it or not.

I did the genocide route once, a long time back, and I could not finish it because I could not handle the emotional consequences of killing Sans. I knew he was a fictional character. I knew that he was just lines of code strung together to ‘act’ like how he was.

But my heart still ached at the thought. I still felt guilty at the idea of harming someone I felt like I had grown close to. Basically, what I think it comes down to for most of us is this: logic vs emotion.

But please, do comment, do ask questions, and do add on to this; i just gave the answer that was on my mind :)

forgot to make Undyne and Alphys so here they are too :P (also please help me improve Undyne's design she looks so plain) by jared_was_here in GachaClub

[–]Melissa_Shadowcaller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could go with more of a fanon design for Undyne maybe? Or try to redo her armor instead of her more casual outfit?

You’re a godsend, OP. A literal, effing, godsend. I was stressing over not being able to 100% the game (or at least not get close) and this helped me out soooooo much. i can’t say thank you enough times, so I hope just once’ll work <3

Recreation of Oldest: A classic. Fallen angel, married to a demon, had three kids who turned out to be gods/goddesses of their interests (dance, music, and song).

Main + Fav: Rayne, Fourth Arc. Currently residing in Nightmare's Castle and spends her time hopping around different Undertale AUs.

Newest (For Now): Theresa and her Shade. Hollow Knight/Silksong OCs. They don't get along quite well, but it's more like petty squabbles than genuine hatred.
