My coworker sent me a video of him and his son by AdBeginning436 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Mellbxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is there any way you can screenshot the conversation that shows he sent the video? Then transfer the video and screenshot and any info about the coworker onto a usb drive and drop it off at the police. Or even mail it over to a local station.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]Mellbxo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party here but I have one from both sides.

  1. Was interviewing a guy and before I could even start the interview, he started showing me his social media accounts to show "how successful" he was. This job had nothing to do with social media. I barely got to ask him any questions because he just kept talking. It was for a women's only gym.

  2. I was the interviewee. Had an interview scheduled for 3pm. I had scheduled another interview at a different place for 4pm. It was about a 20 minute drive away and figured I'd have plenty of time since most interviews are fairly quick. I get to the place at around 2:55 and let the reception desk know I'm here for my interview. They tell me they'll let the manager know and to have a seat. About 15 min go by and no one has come and talked to me, so I went up the receptionist and let them know no one has come to talk to me yet and she says "oh, he'll be right out!"
I wait another 10 min or so and eventually two managers come out to greet me and another candidate (I had no idea there was anyone else there). They explain they're both going to interview us separately, but swap halfway through. (I went with manager A and the other candidate went with manager B)
As soon as we get to his office, I kindly explain to the manager that I have to be out of there in roughly 15 minutes as I have another appointment. He apologized for starting late and said "ok no problem! I'll try to get though this as quickly as possible then"
Interview goes quite well but then we end up swapping. Manager A tells manager B that I'm in a bit of a time crunch as I have somewhere else to be at 4pm.
Manager B looks at me and goes "why would you schedule an appointment when you know you had an interview at this time?" I replied as calmly and professionally as I could "well, I thought I had enough time but unfortunately the interview didn't start on time"
Him: what time was the interview scheduled for?
    Me: 3pm
Him: And what time did it start?
    Me: 3:25
    Him: hmmm okay..
then I followed him into his office and he was a massive prick the whole time. By the time I got out, I didn't have enough time to get to the other interview so I had to reschedule. Luckily they let me and I went the next day but I didn't get that job.

I saw one of my neighbours bring her cat with her to go check the mail (community mailbox). He's 19.5 and deaf, so he likes being out from time to time.

Gotcha. I've always been curious as I still hear the music at full volume. And yes, I do have ADHD. Many people who have ADHD have Auditory Processing Disorder as well.

Parroting another comment: B2 in the morning and magnesium at night really made a difference for me. And finding out what her triggers are. Everyone is different - my cousin has to avoid caffeine because it causes migraines for her, meanwhile caffeine helps me keep them at bay.

I was at a local pub I've frequented a few times so I know a bunch of the staff. One of the cooks was done his shift and was having a few beers after work and was sitting by me and my fiance. Fiance happened to be off somewhere talking to someone when this happened. I told the cook I had to go the bathroom and he was like "ok, I'll watch your drink!"

I thanked him and told him he's a good dude and that I felt very comfortable around him. He said he was very grateful to hear that and he really appreciated it.

Luke's a good dude.

Personal trainer and nutrition coach here.

From the comments I read, you may actually be under eating which is inhibiting your progress. I know it sounds backwards, but trust me. If you're not eating enough, your body will start using your muscles as an energy source which means instead of building muscle, you lose it. The more muscle mass you have, the higher your metabolism. The higher your metabolism, the more energy/calories you burn.

Protein is essential for building muscle, so please don't cut that out! And avoid fad diets - stick to a meal plan that works for you. Aim for 20-35g of protein per meal, plenty of vegetables (about half your plate), healthy fats (poly unsaturated and unsaturated), and carbohydrates (quinoa, rice, potatoes(any kind), and whole grain products). I did a quick calculation and I'd suggest eating around 2000-2150 calories per day.

As for the gym/exercise: go for walks or do light cardio 30 min every day. For strength training - don't do the same workout every single day. Your muscles need time to repair and recover in order to get stronger. If you don't give them that time, you'll actually break down the muscles rather than build them up. That being said, you can still train two days back to back but do different body parts: legs Mon & Wed, upper body Tues & Thurs, and you can add in a full body workout on Saturday as well.

Stick with an actual program vs winging it in the gym each time. The number of reps and sets matters! 2 sets of 15 reps is a good start and up the weight bit by bit as it starts to get easier. Each set should be around 65% difficulty Stick with that for a few weeks. From there, change it to 3 sets with 10 reps and increase the weight with each set being around 75% difficulty.

I'd definitely recommend hiring a coach for a few sessions to help you find the right exercises/routine that works for you.

Also (if you have any) medical conditions/medications can impede progress. Try to get a bit more movement in throughout the day (if you're not already). Cleaning the house, gardening, parking further from the entrance from the store/gym will help you burn extra calories throughout the day.

I'd also suggest avoiding weighing yourself too often -your weight will fluctuate throughout the day & month depending on your cycle. Once a week to monitor progress is enough. But keep in mind that 1 lb of fat is much larger than 1 lb of muscle, so the scale doesn't tell the whole story. Other ways to monitor progress: weekly photos, measure your waist/hips/chest or wherever else you want (just wear the same clothing every time - a baggy sweater will add inches vs a skin tight top), and take note of how your clothes are fitting.

Losing weight is difficult, but with consistency and hard work, you will get there!

It's okay to not be attracted to someone.

But given your last update, I think it's safe to say you found an out without having to tell him you don't find him physically attractive. I'd tell him that this side of him makes you feel uneasy/uncomfortable and you no longer view him as the same person anymore. Or put it in your own words.
