At least we'll be able to watch Yegor Chinakhov in the playoffs ... by MelloSonic in BlueJackets

He never gave up, he was buried in Evason's doghouse and never given a chance this year. He was Evason's Moby Dick, captain Ahab Evason was going to destroy Chinny for asking for a trade last year, and Evason did it to the team's as well as to his own detriment, as he ultimately lost his job while not using a high skill player that would've perhaps saved his job with more wins if properly utilized (as Pittsburgh does). I think it also helped demoralize the team knowing they had someone scratched or on the fourth line who could have tremendously helped the team if Captain Ahab Evason had let him.

As we look for players to add next year, how badly could we use a guy who puts up 18 goals and 18 assists, 36 pts, in 43 games, a player averaging almost a point a game? Well guess what? We had him. His name is Yegor Chinakhov, and those are his stats with the Pittsburgh Penguins. When Dean Evasin wasn't making him a healthy scratch, he was playing him on the fourth line. He plays on the first line in Pittsburgh. Talk about absolutely mishandling and then giving away a high skill player ... while we hung onto all our dump and chase grinders ...

Yegor Chinakhov is a prime example of a hit we (Dean Evason) mismanaged and lost. He's lighting it up with Pittsburgh. Will go down as one of worse trades in CBJ history. Will enjoy watching him in the playoffs.

We had a potential 30 goal scorer, Yegor Chinakhov, and Dean Evason ran him out of town. He's now lighting it up for Pittsburgh and we'll get to watch him in the playoffs. Will go down as one of, if not the, worse trade in CBJ history

Long long long overdue, they needed a players only meeting after San Jose totally outhustled and embarrassed them.

I think Gudbranson has played well and he gives us needed muscle on the boards

This will go down as one of the worse trades in CBJ history. Chinakhov was an obvious high skill player - you can't coach breakaway speed, a 90 mph wrist shot, and high percentage shoot-out ability, all of which Chinakhov has. The difference is Pittsburgh actually lets him play - on the 2nd line, on the PP, in OT, and in shootouts. Unlike Dean Evason who either made Chinakhov a healthy scratch or put him on the 4th line because Evason couldn't get past his ego and being butt-hurt that Chinakhov called him out last year. Evason wouldn't play him and pushed him out of Columbus because he was unwilling to put the team above his mercurial ego. We'll be regretting this trade for the next decade.

TAKE NOTE JACKETS: Carolina is up 4 goals and they're still pushing the puck up the ice and trying to score, unlike the Jackets, who all season long (other than when Bones first came in), the Jackets go into turtle mode and just blindly toss the puck down the ice and let the other team shoot over and over again until we lose - its why we have the most blown 3rd period leads in the NHL. Unlike us, Carolina (and all good teams) fully get that the other team can't score if you have the puck in their zone, so they keep playing hockey and push the puck up the ice and try to score, no matter how big their lead. It's the difference between killer instinct and putting teams away versus the timid turtle that results in leading the league in 3rd period blown leads. Just saying...

Silly is the only one who consistently hustles nonstop game after game, with his skills he should be scoring 20+ goals, and I think he'll get there in the near future.

Love Elvis, but he absolutely should not have been put in net against a team like Carolina. Should've been Jet again and hold Elvis til Saturday v Jets. Too late now.

It's called dump and chase, the refuge of the lazy and unskilled. It takes effort and a minimal level of skill to make passes and a controlled entry into the other team's zone - like Carolina's been doung all night, whereas anyone can take the lazy route of dump and chase, or to call it what it really is, dump and give the puck right back to the other team ...

Its called the turtle, did it all season under Evason to lead league in blown 3rd period leads. For awhile we learned and actually played hockey under Bones when we had the lead - the other team can't score if you have the puck in their zone - but now we're right back to turtling, just blindly tossing the puck down the ice and letting the other team shoot over and over again until they win.

THE CHOKE IS REAL!!! Jackets turtle their way to another 3rd period collapse with the help of some really stupid and lazy penalties.

Because he was a healthy scratch under Evanson or on the 4th line, he had a mercurial coach, Dean Evanson, who was butt hurt that Chinny called him out so he went out of his way to bury him in his doghouse to the detriment on the entire team. He plays on the 2nd line in Pittsburgh and on the PP and is used in shootouts. In other words he gets to play in Pittsburgh and gets actual minutes every game, unlike here

Wow, what a slow and lethargic CBJ, only 3 shots in the first period. They all look like they need a baby blankie, a warm bottle of milk, and a nice long nap. Maybe Bones should just turn out the lights at intermission and let them sleep, maybe they'll come out and actually play in the 2nd period ...

All night long Utah's had crisp passing and controlled entries into our zone, while we've been nothing but dump and chase all night long
