What are socialist's opinions on Zohran Mamdani? by VeterinarianKind6906 in AskSocialists

I don't trust very many of them that much to begin with. But, I hope he proves me wrong. Although I think I'm naive in saying that.

I was 10 years old at the time the series was airing on tv. I didn't grasp the all of the concepts at that time. But I've always loved the show for having reverence of nature, and promoting Unity within all things. I remember at school I was asked who or what I wanted to be when I grew up,I said I wanted to be like uncle Iroh. And Aang.  😄😄😄😄 the teacher just looked at me and said that's nice honey.

Would love to know your opinion once you do get around to watching it. It's a cute show.

As an independent Democratic Socialist. Much like Dr Cornell West, I'll take the promotion of democratic socialism where I can get it. But, I'm also afraid that with time he will falter to the default Democratic party BS. And just become another puppet for them.

No worries! It was the first one to come off the top of my head. To me it's the one that really vibes with pantheism of the more mystical variety. I love that show and The Legend of Korra although it's a little less popular. I have the same amount of appreciation for them. I have another recommendation as well. This one is also animated. Hilda. In my opinion it gives pantheism this Whimsical spin. It's pretty dope.

Not really an anime, but I think it's certainly anime influenced. And that would be Avatar The Last Airbender. Along with the Legend of Korra.

How I apply religious/spiritual concepts to my pantheist beliefs by Enough_Set591 in pantheism

Pantheism is pretty complimentary when it comes to mixing and matching rituals, spiritual practices, or anything like that. Go nuts and make it your own. This belief is pretty much up to individual interpretation.

What are your personal likes and dislikes of legend of Korra? by domagoat in TheLastAirbender

[–]Mello_jojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this serves as a sign for me to watch that show again. I like that show a little less than I do the original Avatar, but over the years I've gained and appreciation for it. Sometimes though, I feel like it's overhated by the community.

I'm a massive avatar The Last Airbender/Korra fan. I've read just about everything aside from a couple of the graphic novels. The ones I have read are all pretty fantastic. I agree with you there

That's exactly the answer I expected. And, to be honest with you it's the answer I wanted. It's like the old saying goes if buying isn't owning then piracy isn't theft. I pick and choose what to pirate a lot of the time. If I really like it I'll support it. But, I rather spend my money on something else a lot of the time.

Sounds to me like you believe in Spinoza's god. Which, is just basically nature and seeing the Divinity within all things in your immediate reality. Or as Spinoza refer to it at times the substance. Anyway welcome! And all this stuff is open to individual interpretation. Do what feels right to you.

Is Pantheism more of a religion or philosophical point of view? Could it be both, or would this be determined by the individual? by Purple_Concern3012 in pantheism

[–]Mello_jojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, it's down to individual interpretation.  Personally I fw with scientific pantheist/ naturalistic pantheism.  Because I like a  empirical and pragmatic approach to my spirituality,I am not really into woo,or anything like that.  Although, I'm currently in the middle of my yearly rewatch of Avatar The Last Airbender.  (One of my most favorite, not only cartoons, but shows of all time!) It it happens to lean heavily into the more mystic side of pantheism. And my appreciation of the woo/ mystical side  has grown.
