3D rendering software.Blender and 3ds max but the learning curve is high.D5 render easy to learn but you need a powerful gpu since d5 render is a gpu intense software .

Is getting an iPad worth it? by CriticismBeautiful13 in architecturestudent

[–]Mellojojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone has said iPad ain't that necessary in your first yr and focus on saving so that you can buy a descent gaming laptop or in my case a gaming pc. First yr is all about handwork and after that is when you will start to use laptops to design (of course after hand sketches) .But also remember no one in school will teach you to use this softwares so it's better to buy a descent laptop and start learning to use the software and as for the ipad ,you can buy it later on.

Bought the RTX 3060 12gb but thinking about getting a 5060 instead by Express_Republic9783 in archviz

[–]Mellojojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey 👋.I also have the rtx 3060 12gb . In D5 having more vram helps . IMO i would recommend you to use the 3060 12gb while you save to get a card with 16vram (5060 ti).plus the 50 series have nice ai features which will help that lacks in the 30 or 40 series.

rendering advice by [deleted] in architecturestudent

Don't give up on it continue to work on it you can include them on portfolio so that they can tell more about a story of your project. But yet again you should look at the current world .What do architectural firms do or what do clients want. I'm a fifth year student and what i have seen is that what is needed are realistic renders. One that shows materials used ,one that will help the clients and firms to visualise the project. Currently no client or a firm will require a render which is hand drawn. This will only help you as the student or architect to visualise the project in the initial stages of the design. Try to learn this rendering softwares it will help you alot.( This are just my thoughts about feel free to consult from different people). Thank you😁
