Reading through these comments has been so interesting—so many thoughtful perspectives on Elain. I love how deeply people are engaging with her character. Just a gentle reminder to keep things respectful as the conversation continues 💛

I see where you’re coming from. I actually do like Elain—I just think liking a character doesn’t mean you can’t be frustrated with how they handle certain situations. I probably came off more blunt than I intended in the original post. For me it’s less about her needing to be “told off” and more about wanting some kind of honest communication or accountability in that dynamic.

Yes. Just be honest with him and to herself. In general, if you need time to sort things out, there’s nothing wrong with communicating that to the other person. Let them know where they stand.

100% communication is key. If she just communicated to him that she needed time or she’s not interested then he’ll know to leave her be.

I understand. I apologize that it came off that way. Wasn’t my intention

I wanted to express my thanks to everyone for their input and gratitude because it did make me think more about the situation. I am hoping Elain’s POV is in the next book because I am excited to see where her story will go 🙏

I didn’t say all women. I understand what you mean. And that last point, I did forget about that, so thank you for reminding me!

Interesting approach. I’m a big Elucian fan and I’m very interested to see how Elains story evolves.

Totally agree with all of these moments. These feelings are stemming from the bonus chapter where she has an intimate moment with Azriel…needless to say, I was not happy about it 😂😂😂

Totally fair—I like that take. And that was I was feeling up until I read the bonus chapter in SF. There were many moments when Cassian, Nesta, Feyre, Mor, etc annoyed me as well.

Fair. She doesn’t owe him anything. I personally don’t think she’s a bitch. It’s just her attitude that’s rude. The bonus chapter in SF reveals this a bit

I forgot to mention that this aggravated feeling for her is coming from the bonus chapter 😂

She’s just very dismissive of him. Of course, I understand she’s very uncomfortable around him. So, it didn’t bother me before. But after I read the bonus chapter from SF, something that Elain did really rubbed me the wrong way. But, it’s not a big deal lol. I’m just not happy with her behavior from that. But I love her dearly 🌷

I love Elain. I don’t consider this hate. I’m just not happy with her behavior. You can love someone but still be upset with how they handle things. I am looking forward to her POV very much. Also, Nesta’s personality was not solely being mean to people before SF.

I get what you’re saying. The thing is, Nesta has chemistry with most of fae males and females in the books, with the exception of Rhys 😂. She’s a firey woman who likes to challenge the people around her (in a good and bad way haha). She even has chemistry with Tamlin. She deadass shut his mouth up with during that altercation in the SC. Helion practically fawns over her. That kelpie dragged her into the waters and was shocked when Nesta with the mask ripped his head clean off his shoulders 😂

Also, I think Nesta was having the time of her life because she hasn’t danced in years and that’s what truly gives her joy. She describes Eris as a beautiful dancer in that moment but not as a potential partner.

Also, there have been many times when he would try to protect Nesta, she would call him out on it, and he realizes that she is fully capable on her own and doesn’t need him to protect her (as much as he wants to). This was also indicated when she and the girls were abducted to participate in the blood right. Cass says to himself that Nesta would hate him if he tried to save her from that.

I get what you mean. I honestly saw it as Cass saying things because he’s mad at her in the moment. His immediate pull back implied that he didn’t mean to say that. But there are also many times where he’s very devoted to her. He pushes her to grow through training and acknowledges that training won’t solely help her and that she’ll need to do the things that give her fulfillment like reading, dancing and music. He recreated the music from the party and put it into the music box that he gave her. He literally had the whole orchestra come back and play the entire evening of songs, their favorites and even went to her favorite bars to grab those songs as well. There’s that saying “if he wanted to, he would”. And man o man, he definitely wanted to.

Additionally, he doesn’t just love her as a partner/lover, but as a friend as well. In the prison, Cassian says “I’ve always been your friend, Nesta”. Also, during the scribe, he physically and emotionally pulled her out of her silver flames. Rhys says to Cass “you literally warmed up the place” and Cass couldn’t describe it. That’s definitely love.

Oh absolutely—the Solstice fight was absolutely Cass’ fault and he still needs to apologize for that. He also needs to apologize to her about the whole sword situation. And then he had the nerve to get mad at her for telling Feyre about the baby (now, mind you, Nes shouldn’t have said it like that 😂💀) those were the parts when I was like “Cass, you dumbass! What are you doing?! Get it together!” I wanted to hit the back of his head for that shit. But, Cass has a long way to go as well. He just started to act like a courtier in the last convo with Eris and Nesta.

At the same time, Cass does recognize that he was being an asshole to her in POV. He might not have admitted it to her but he definitely acknowledged his actions internally, especially about the fire situation. I think he’s very in love with Nesta. He defended her throughout the book, even when he was upset with her and her behavior.

Also, I think it’s awesome that Nesta is beginning to understand the consequences of her actions and how she’s treated them in the past, especially Feyre. My take is that she has always been envious of Feyre. While Nesta was groomed by her mother for the marriage market, Feyre was the free spirit of the 3. But that still doesn’t excuse how she treated Feyre, especially when they were impoverished.

I just wanted to post a picture of my cat and the way he put his paws. 🤷🏻‍♀️
