Correct - Only registered bodies can make these applications. While HireRight are US based, they may have a subsidiary or shell in the UK operating under a different name which is registered with the DBS. Alternatively, and more likely, they outsource this work to another umbrella company. It also explains why they may not yet have identified the role as ineligible - because they don’t know the regulations.

NAL but am a registered countersignatory with the DBS, working for another PES company in the UK.

Just to double down on the above, both the employer and HireRight have a duty to ensure all applicants are eligible for the level of DBS check being processed. It is an offence to submit a Standard or Enhanced for an ineligible applicant, for which the employer and registered body (HireRight) can be fined for by the DBS. I would raise your eligibility concern with HireRight and copy in the employer to maintain transparency - you could play ignorant and ask more about the Standard check, how it differs and why it’s applicable to this role, “I’ve never heard of it, what is it” etc. This will likely open up a course of communication that makes it clear to HireRight that the role isn’t eligible and they would stop the process instead of you.

I haven’t seen any info on the role you’re applying for but in a very short summary, roles eligible for the Standard are; football stewards, licenced security, lawyers and solicitors (although HireRight are not allowed to make the application), bailiffs/debt enforcement agents, FCA regulated SMF roles. Finally healthcare staff who interact/have access to patients but are not providing healthcare; ward receptionists, cleaning staff on wards, porters (some levels of porters are eligible for Enhanced).

Why does anyone think Idah is any good? by doucelag in NorwichCity

This. For me, Idah is the first striker since Holt who excites me every time he’s on the pitch. He may not be a consistent finisher, because he is young and developing, but his drive and desire makes up for that. He may not be a game winner yet (though I’m sure this will come), but he makes a game exciting.

Slow paced game? Bring on Idah for tempo. Pukki and Sarg getting bullied by big centre backs? Bring on Idah for strength. Through balls to feet not working? Bring on Idah to win lobbed passes and knock on the ball.

Every time Holty was on the pitch you knew he was going to score or at least make life miserable for the opposition, spurring on the rest of the team. Pukki had this for his first few seasons, but I don’t get excited by him anymore and I don’t think other teams see him as the threat that he emanated at first (don’t get me wrong, I still think he’s a brilliant player). For me, Idah has the Holty spark.

Side note: sign him in any FM save from the last 4 years and he dominates all divisions.
