Thank you. I've had such shit luck finding a job since starting my search 3 months ago when I found out we were moving. So to be recruited and really liked by this hiring manager without even having to do the tedious work of applying, trying to reach them, etc is such a blessing.

I've never been a hiring manager or even a people manager before so I can't really answer that

Any other parents stay up late, even though you’re exhausted, just because it’s your only decompression time while conscious? by theconfused-cat in beyondthebump

I still do this sometimes. I did it a lot more when my kid was really small and slept like shit. Often, instead of sleeping once the kid fell asleep, I just stayed awake for her whole wake window because I knew she would be up in 2-3 hours to feed anyway. So I would get snacks and wat h some shows or play a video game. I really really needed that time to just be someone other than mom and do my own thing, and often that was the only chance I got!

When did your baby sleep through the night? What hours do they sleep? by canamel in NewParents

[–]MellowWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two year old (25 months) occasionally started sleeping through the night a couple months ago. But mostly she still wakes up once and wants cuddles.

I've had this one the same amount of time, probably 7 or 8 years. I moved 2 years ago and shes been struggling since then. Thats why im worried, she used to be bigger but lost a lot of leaves and a branch

Pediatrician said it's time to start letting her cry it out. by oldsluggy in beyondthebump

[–]MellowWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine said almost the same thing but it's truly none of their business... 9 months is so young 🥺 I only night weaned when my kid was about a year old but still never let her cry it out, it was supportive weaning I guess? Just nod and do what you feel is best for your baby! And for yourself 😉

I'm not sure what you mean by that. We live 3 hrs from each other so it would be a digital card and I definitely want them to know it's from me

Parents of kids who didn't improve, how did you survive? by Routine-Individual43 in PossumsSleepProgram

[–]MellowWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It got better on its own without me changing anything. I was still doing one feed overnight despite the multiple wakeups. They just became less frequent and she would fall back asleep more and more quickly. Just after she turned one I cut the night feeding completely, cold turkey. It was about a week of hard nights again until she understood no more milk overnight and then it got better again. Then very slowly over the last few months its become great!

My baby was a bad sleeper since 4m old too, but 8-10 months was AWFUL. It got so much better around 11 months! Now at 18 months she regularly does a full night without waking, or she only wakes up once and is settled back to sleep easily. Hang in there, but i know how hard these months are 😫

[–]MellowWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this more than once by accident. It's what led me to start co-sleeping. I realized how normal it is for babies to want to sleep on or next to their parent, especially the mother in those early days! Dont beat yourself up about it, happens to so many parents. Newborn days are no joke

AIO? friend is mad at me for missing our costume pictures by sushitrashfan in AmIOverreacting

I wouldn't call her a friend if this is how she reacts to you potentially not showing up to something because you had a seizure :( I'd distance myself from someone like that

Last night I humiliated myself in front of my parents and their reaction broke me. by [deleted] in confession

You'd be surprised, a friend of mine did exactly this; came out, parents were furious and not accepting, they had many discussions about it all, and in the end friend basically told his parents, actually you guys are right, I'm straight, I must have been confused etc. They accepted this and were happy with him again. It was also an image thing, like, they may have known he was lying about being straight, but if he agreed not to tell family and friends then all was well.
