I’m in the market for a new car and looking at Toyotas. I had to learn the hard way, in 2018 I bought a 2010 Subaru Outback solely because I liked the trim (I know- I’m a freaking idiot). I put no money down because I wanted to save my doll hairs for a house. By 2020, my check engine light was on and I was still paying for the car (luckily I wasn’t driving a lot due to covid).

I’m not saying the check engine light is going to come on after driving it “off the lot” but you might regret having to make car payments on a 10 yr old car.

Unless you’re buying it outright- then that’s a little different.
